I work at a Great Dane trailer dealership/repair shop out in CA. A guy came in with a pride and class 389 and I got to talking to him about how I watch this guy on TH-cam who has videos on new Peterbilts. Then he says "yeah I bought both my trucks from him". He has two pride and class 389's. One red and one blue. They were beautiful. Small world.
WOW! This high end truck game is a small world. It surprises a lot of people but California is my largest customer base for new 389"s. Thanks for the info, have a good week.
I can attest to how well these trucks are spec'd out. I've got 170,000 now on my '16 I bought from you, and there isn't a thing I'd change about it. They are definitely well thought out.
I had an idea for the step light problem. What if you used the led rock crawler lights for jeep. It is flat and LED. And this is my dream Truck. Absolutely love this Rig.
If I were to buy a new truck I would go with the disc brakes, but as far as maintenance, I had 0 issues with drums on my '96 Pete, new shoes @ about 750k still had plenty left on linings. Did front brakes twice in same time period.
Have to agree with you on the torque vs hp. Especially with the newer style engines producing torque at lower rpms and hp at higher rpms. I'll take the torque over the hp. Had this debate the other day at the shop. He was like if you spec a truck to get fuel economy than you're gonna loose you pulling power, but if your keep the truck within the torque curve than the torque gonna be your pulling power vs the hp I would assume.
Another Masterpiece! Steve = What do you think about one like this, with an X15 Efficiency, 13 speed, in a 260inch WB, maybe a couple lightweight touches; chasing some MPG's but still driving a 389?
This is definitely the one. Steve what kind of monthly payments would it be for this truck? I am first time buyer 720 plus credit score, what type payment we looking at? How much down? Financed terms? Please advise.
15-30k or10-20% down is common for first time buyers, your credit score is very good, payments average around 2400 per month but there are many variables that can change that, 72 months is common also
What is the round price on the green pup? Its a very nice truck, candy apple green, what power train I could get other than Cummins ,auto/18 speed.Do You do dual battery pack's, extra fuel tank's, Apu with A/C.Need to know the price base. TH
This truck asking price is $167,500, other than cwe can get a PACCAR up to 500hp, for an auto 18 add $9k, can do extra fuel tanks, not sure what a dual battery pack is, APU from Thermo King with all the goodies is $10,900.
Here's my problem. I know that there's TOO MUCH I don't know. I want to buy my own truck but I'm not sure how to spec it. Is there a page I could visit to educate myself? Right now, I'd want it to haul fuel/oil loads. BUT, if that didn't work out, I'd want options. So far, what I (think) want is right along what you're specifications are. X15 565/2050 Full air ride 3 axle discs. 18 spd. I'm not sure about the ride height. My better half likes the (579?) large cab. I prefer the (389?) "Classic" look. Too many questions. If my credit was just "Ok" BUT, I had a large down payment, could it work?
OK credit and big down payment always works well together. Unfortunately the only way to see all of the specs is to sit down and call me and we can go over them, nothing accessible on the internet. I have fuel hauler specs (lightweight) if you wold like me to send you some.
Peterbilt Steve I just thought of that when you showed the plugin still there and how the chicken light was kinda angled that way , have a good day Steve and always thank for sharing the videos , I keep a note on things I've seen you have , and I am getting close to coming visiting you and you getting me a couple trucks built , question tho I don't guess they is a open webpage you can show a sample of colors in the legendary color line is they?
Am I the only one who wishes they could integrate the d e f tank inside the fuel tank or place it above or below the catwalk, just so it wasn't along the side kind of like old school?
I do that all the time. I can ship it directly from the factory to you or I can get it, put my touches on it then ship it to you. Or you can fly in and drive it home. No hurdle I cant over come on that subject.

Steve...can you get a tv mount from the factory or is there a area in the bunk to put one up ? 13in-19in size
Nothing from the factory but I have seen many good ideas depending on the layout of the sleeper.
How much for a 2018 like the Viper Green tractor?
Is the cup holder storage spot that use to be installed beside the passenger seat still available? I haven't seen one in a while.
Yes, I dont like how much floor space they take up but I keep them in my parts department and they only take 5 minutes to install .

I will call you when I'm ready to spec one out.
What's the price tag on this beautiful truck?
Late 160's
Can you keep the horns and do the 13 or 15 clear LED cab lights??
Sure can
Nice 👍🏻 love that truck
tahnk u sir
can't you tie in to the chicken lights above the step to light up when you open the door?? just a idea tho
Yes you could! Great idea....
Could you tie in the chicken lights to the turn/hazard signals?
Well crap, just when i get over the shakes you do this again, don't know how much longer i can hold out.
LOL
Am I the only one who wishes they could integrate the d e f tank inside the fuel tank or place it above or below the catwalk, just so it wasn't along the side kind of like old school?
Really nice!
nice....
Not a fan of the old square nose , how about a 579 with a 13 speed ?
I have those also

Derrick Carden this channel caters to Peterbilts! Hence the name Peterbilt Steve!!!
Derrick Carden Go to the Volvo Vladimir Channel. Peter Large Car admirers only here.!
You might think that until you try and trade it. Thank you for watching. Safe travels.
Derrick Carden -UTTER BLASPHEMY!
I live in Ca. Could I pay you to spec out a truck and do a transfer/ship to Ca? Just curious what my options are when I buy my truck.
I do that all the time. I can ship it directly from the factory to you or I can get it, put my touches on it then ship it to you. Or you can fly in and drive it home. No hurdle I cant over come on that subject.
