- Lufthansa will be offering new long-haul cabin layouts on its widebody aircraft, with the roll-out beginning in 2023. Every cabin class will see a significant improvement, with business class and first class receiving the largest upgrades.
Lufthansa has dubbed the new long-haul cabin design "Allegris". So, let’s see just what this new design has to offer!

The colour scheme looks so premium and appealing.
The new seats look awesome! That first class looks really good, and isn't overpowered by gold/ wood tones like Emirates. The premium eco also looks good, probably better than the business class of some African airlines.
It's modern. You can look sophisticated without trying to say you look sophisticated. Compare that new London subway station to a lot of the "modern" designs architects create to shout to the world that they exist. That London subway station looks modern yet classic it doesn't try to be controversial, it's a nice compromise between old & new design without feeling like a compromise. I hope those who designed that station have a great career because they didn't try to create a personal statement or vanity project.
Did you ever fly LH and can you compare it with qatar, singapore and ANA? Sin and ANA biz is better than LH first!

IN LOVE. Finally no more black interiors and these beautiful shades of blue and wood/havane colours. Very, very chic! And much more high end residential than just an airplane interior.
Lufthansa is probably the world's most debated airline. I've always eyed them for flights to Europe from Asia, but they've been mocked so much for their supposed 5-star status and the product they offer, I've hesitated. Fingers crossed with these new cabins, they can finally live up to that 5-star standard.
How do you find their price point in comparison to the Asian Carriers?. I've often considered using Lufthansa as from the UK they are frequently quite competitive.
@@jammiedodger629 The only reason to consider flying Lufthansa is if they're the cheapest option or if they offer a direct flight. Otherwise, I would opt for Qatar, Emirates, or Singapore Airlines as they offer far superior products (and from experience, far better service as well).
Issue tends to be the service - their PremiumEco and Economy products are comparable, but the matron approach to service puts them back frequently- although it has improved recently - their current Business on the other hand is uncompetitive vs any Asia carrier, let alone SQ or ANA
I’ve always considered LH as utilitarian airline. Does the job efficiently for the most part…now transiting though FRA can be very exhausting unless you pay extra…

Yes, i cannot agree more. What they are rolling out in 2023 has been on offer at many Asian carriers for years and the business class seats look outdated before they have been installed. Now add the (completely inferior) service element to it, and there is no reason to fly LH, except when they offer deep discounts on their tickets.

Soft product is barely acceptable. Especially the higher classes. Hard product for bs class was not competitive with great airlines and I doubt the new one is any better. Only comparing to the pathetic American airlines Lufthansa is better.

@@hypernewlapse You Euros are lucky. Here in the US, the major carriers like United directly compete with the Yankee RyanAirs Spirit and Frontier for the same target demographics, which leads to shittier service both domestic and overseas.

Curious to know how this fleet-wide upgrade would impact their fare pricing strategies. Would they take this opportunity to increase their fare? Especially when long-haul travels are resuming.

I’ve always been skeptical on how Lufthansa got a 5 Star rating by Skytrax, because their product most of the time is good, but not 5 Star(s). This new “Allegris” revamp/suites definitely looks promising and a huge upgrade from the current product, which will probably make Lufthansa be deserving of that 5 Star rating by Skytrax if it turns out well.
LH and SQ Codeshare flying to SIN. Codeshare flights will be a pleasant experience for now on.
It really depends the airline, Lufthansa is massively updating its first class with private rooms, it’s also revamping its business and economy seats.

OMG, Lufthansa finally paid attention and made a step into the time of today and leaving the 90s behind them. Real privacy, a very nice color scheme, but for the “new, unprecedented standards” Lufthansa would have had to introduce this design and concept about 10 years ago… They are still behind most carriers, and the concepts are (mostly) copied from existing seating, but it’s nice to see Lufthansa try to make an effort to catch up. And when Lufthansa has finally fitted out all plains with the new seating, they’ll be tailing the competition again… Always a day late and a dollar short.
Now Lufthansa only has to step up its game in friendliness, service, meals and price and they actually might be an alternative again. But somehow, I have my doubts.

Lufthansa is an embarrassment compared to what they used to be. They're almost as bad as British Airways lol
They are usually WAY more expensive than the competition on international flights but offer cramped legroom, not- great in-flight entertainment systems, horribly presented food that often isn't appetizing either, and to top it off, wildly inconsistent cabin service (aka sometimes the attendants have a chip on their shoulder) All that I could almost forgive, if the cabins didn't all pretty much look like any generic airline from the 90s.
So yeah, I'm happy to see changes but already disappointed that it's gonna be outdated again by the time they're in full service (2025-2028) and who knows if they'll ever fix the food or actually learn how to keep their employees happy and improve the customer service.
No joke, I think the new cabin and design themes on Condor is a vastly superior value for the money and they seem to have recognized the importance of charisma that makes people loyal to brands like Virgin Atlantic and other boutique airlines.
I really want to support Lufthansa. They're the airline of my home country. But I'm not holding my breath for them actually delivering a better value proposition than the competition on most of their routes.
For now ill probably stick to Virgin, Delta...(maybe Condor) and Skyteam airlines while I wait for someone another great airline to come along and shake up the industry with their customer-first business model (...R.I.P Virgin America)
Finally they keep up to other airlines and can stay premium! I look forward to travel in the new cabin.
Lufthansa clearly thinks of its customers and in return will capture more frequent fliers to and from its hubs in both Munich and Frankfurt. Having recently flown in economy, business class on flights to and from Bangkok, Bangalore, and Singapore using the A350 and the 744. I am personally and seriously thinking of switching my membership from KLM/AIR FRANCE over to Lufthansa, not only for their clean, friendly, helpful staff but for their way of handling passengers with style, dignity and efficiency. Frankfurt, although an older airline hub and Munich's ultra-modern clearly can beat both Charles De Gaulle and Amsterdam in terms of service and immigration woes. Spending one to two hours in life in Amsterdam after a 13-hr flight from Asia, most certainly isn't my cup of tea at 05.35 am when over 10 to 20 flights in the span of an hour and a half touchdown, making this security process a royal nightmare. The endless corridors, escalators that are not working and crowds that clearly are beyond any means even in business class clubs are making their products seeming outdated, dirty and without hesitation, lacking an efficient airline this used to be. In my mind we have three, Lufthansa as the classy airline it has always been, Finnair, up and coming trying to find its niche in the market and Swiss as punctual as a Rolex watch. These will be my first choice for any long-distance flights I take, after all it is my personal pocketbook that pays, not a commercial business account. Kudos to Lufthansa, looking forward to seeing these improvements starting in 2023, eagerly now, awaiting their use.
About time that Lufthansa is going for innovation witch hasn t been the case the last 10 years and always that step byond the main competition !!! I can only hope they continue this inovation also in culinary area something they neglected?

Having nice cabins is one thing...what about the service of the cabin crew? That alone is why I prefer to fly the Asian carriers if I have the choice.

Yes, it‘ll be on every plane Lufthansa has, even though that will take a few years.
The sleeping row on economy is also present on Air New Zealand (will try that next year).
Also premium economy looks good (the other are also fine but quite distant €€€).
Let's see how much time until they are widely available.

They should replace some Seat rows with sleeping capsules. Every Seat is hurting after 8 hours. Spare me the meal and the Entertainment System: Just sleeping with a straight back
Hopefully the intro will be much smoother than the desastrous launch of its 2006_7 business class...

Difficult to get too excited when you have flown with Singapore/Qatar/Cathy/Emirates. You can see very regimented German style
It IS a German airline, so why should they deny their origin?
BTW: cabin staff of Lufthansa consists of more than 100 nationalities, almost all of them are fluent in German, of course, and they all live in Germany.
That's only topped by Emirates, even though most of them do not speak Arabic.

the new first & business class is perfect for wide body quad jets like the A380-800 & B747-8I . . . Boeing should launch a specialized complete refurbishment program for full service carriers still operating legacy B747-400 ER & B747-400 . . . retiring the A380-800 fleet was a big mistake by Lufthansa . . . including Qantas & Air France . . .

I hope the economy seats are more comfortable than they look. Lots of 'hard plastic' seems to be the order of the day. I am sure they will be great, though.

Yes! The future fleet of B777-9, B747-8, B787-9 and A350 will get the new Allegris product. At the moment it isn't clear yet whether the A330s & A380s will be retrofitted. The other aircraft types (B744, A343 & A346) won't get the new product because they're getting retired in the next few years. Greetings from Frankfurt ;)
(Allegris is planned to be the Lufthansa Group's product, Austrian, Swiss, Brussels, Eurowings Discover, ... will get the new seats as well (a few years later))

Cloth seats accumulate odors and stains rapidly. Spills from the previous flight will be readily apparent. Leather is superior.

It's long overdue. I have avoided Lufthansa on long haul routes solely because of their extremely dated business class.
Allegris sounds like allergy medicine. Or the name of a new Cirque du Soleil show.
Mmmmm Business Class seats adjacent to windows face away from the window. Not sure I'd be real keen to be looking over my shoulder to see outside on approach and take-off.

The photos of business class looked cramped. Maybe it was just the angle. My personal preference for a First Class seat is not a fully enclosed cube. I like the open spaciousness of a wide-body cabin and the enclosure ruins that ambiance.

@@mstrmren they deserve 3 only. Some years ago they paid Skytrax to make them 5 star. All my experiences with LH were so poor.
My flight from Almaty to Astana was delayed 2 hours. No apology, nothing. Rude crew, service was laughable. And paid more than double than a much better airline which serves the route.

They need to invent lay-flat economy class seats for long haul flights. i.e. economy seats that can go flat with economy service. I just want a lay flat seat without the premium food and other service for less money then the business class.
I definitely know what you mean, but this will never happen. otherwise why would someone still pay for expensive business seats when they can also lay down and sleep just as good while paying less? no airline in their right mind would do this.
@@giyaed Well I did not say that it should be for economy price. I can be priced somewhere between economy and business. The seats can be narrow but lay flat. The problem is that business is just too expensive, usually 4 to 6 times.

Because a couple or an adult and child can use two seats and sleep on a row of 3 economy seats. This concept copies Air New Zealand's Skycouch which have been offered to economy passengers for years.
