Information is the bedrock of biology. Even the first organism, LUCA, may have started with 2600 genes. Biology is basically an information processing system.

So, how can randomness create both the code for AND the physical structures for each of the complex interacting multi-subunit nanomachines which must also work with each other cooperatively to enable the information based self copying which is the hallmark of life?

Genetic code affirms us that we are a part of a harmonious process.

There are millions of humans who would disagree with "harmonius," for example, people born with cystic fibrosis, and many other gene-based diseases. DNA really doesn't "do" anything - it supplies information to cells.

A process that only a Superintelligence which created both code and nanomachines which are specified by and are necessary to build another copy containing that code.
Scientific materialism rejects this as impossible.

Life on Earth is not made of self-copying machines.

Isn’t information originating from relationships, be it biological or spiritual? If there were no relationships will there be any information?

Did you conclude that not everything physical is a store of information?

Consciousness-or information-is the fundamental reality from which everything (the physical realm) emerges. The physical realm can be seen as an expression of this underlying essence. In humans, genes are a physical manifestation of this principle, serving as carriers of information that shape biological life. They bridge the intangible nature of consciousness and the tangible structure of existence, highlighting that the physical world, including genetics, is a derivative expression of the deeper, non-material reality of consciousness.

Brains figure out information . However genetic evolution is Important to know It is from consciousness. Consequencies is gene experiences from consciousness and NOT information. It is by- product of consciousness.

With all the information there, where is the big picture or the overall plan that puts all the bits of information together? The information idea is lacking. What use are bricks and mortar without a vision or plan for their use.

the question at hand is whether genetic response to certain molecular signals is made intrinsically or mechanically...

      Good day to you.
In platonics, they discuss a phrase that I can not remember right now, but basically implying that seeds of things, even organisms, do intrinsically have the blueprints of what they potentially can become.
The usage of the term mechanically here in this context I am wondering if it means contingent or adventitious as opposed to intrinsically. Works I study often state: nothing in nature is vain. To build a hypothesis contrary to this would run into contention with the principle in Justice itself. Which platonics too has greatly considered and discussed.

      Hello S3R...
exegetically, adventitious as extrinsic, which makes one question the source of qualia and knowledge..
both Plato and Aristotle have argued the nature of aisthesis (senitive perception) and anamnesis (knowledge)... in short Plato thinks that knowledge precedes qualia and Aristotle thinks that knowledge is build after the experience of qualia...
      always a pleasure S3R...

The Erwin Schrodinger thesis in biology is that life temporarily violates the Second Law of Thermodynamics. The more information an organism stores, the more it can resist entropy. Evolution through natural selection leads to higher levels of information processing, and we humans may not be the ultimate form of information storage. Hint: machines might be next.

Information entropy does not require physical entropy.
