The brown thrasher is the state bird of Georgia!! That's why it was such a great name! And that Atlanta detailing down just the one arm is so iconic too. The ECHL Gladiators have done a jersey in the same style and it looks very very good.
The common denominator in the NY Rangers "shield" jersey and those almost identical Winnipeg Jets jerseys was John Ferguson. He brought in those jerseys to the Rangers when he was Rangers GM. When the Rangers fired him, they also got rid of his uniforms. When he got hired by Winnipeg, he brought his jerseys with him. The Jets never wore any jersey that looked like those in their WHA days.
I love the old Canucks 85-89 gold skate home jersey and the black away jersey. They looked really nice in my opinion and the V’s on the pants too. Miss those colours that no one talks about in Canucks nation
The gold skate is my favourite skate jersey! The Linden rookie jersey. Happy to have a CCM Vintage version of it. I understand why people love the 90s skates (especially Gen Xers that fell in love with the team during the 94 run), but the gold is just amazing. Plus, it uses gold and orange instead of red and yellow, which in my opinion looks better!

Adding black as an accent color is a bad idea in my opinion. The Flames red and gold and the North Stars green and gold were clean, the black muddied the look.

Agreed 100% I have the home and away durene jersey from the 75-76 season that I purchased from the Varsity Sports Shop in College Park,Md and the have held up quite well considering they are pushing 50 years old.
The Flyers color on that Clarke jersey is the “traffic cone” orange that sort of missed in recent years. Their true color is more of a dark/burnt orange. Their latest 2024 jersey goes back to that original color.

Some exceptions: the current (Cup winning) Blues blue home, the 90's Selanne Jets blue away, and the Gretzky Kings white homes. I, too, prefer the dark blue Whalers, but yeah, green is their most iconic. Speaking of which, the Hurricanes original white jersey is a look they shouldn't have gotten away from. And for the recently deceased Coyotes who also didn't make the expanded list, easily the original black Kachina sweaters. As for my Wings, they need never, ever change. Perfection in its (extreme) simplicity.

I totally agree that the Weber/Rebook jersey looks better than the current Preds home jersey. The piping and a bit blue does it. But as a Norwegian it is truly hard to cheer for a team that wears swedish colors :) Apart from the logo this is the swedish national team's colors. So I definitely prefer the old navy blue home jersey, also with the somewhat more complex preds head(red eyes etc)
Since I'm a bit older than your average viewer, I go back to when most teams wore white jerseys as their home garb. So in the back of my mind I still think that way.
Shannon, I like your idea of having the anchor be the primary logo for the Kraken. However, I would give it one extra twist: I would put a medium size “S” intertwined around the vertical part of the logo. It would be the same way the “S” is intertwined around the “L” on a St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap. Don’t make the “S” too big, however - the anchor should be the main eye candy.
I always preferred the navy and silver whalers jersey. The green one always reminded me too much of the North Stars or Seals jersey. I prefer the previous version of the Pens jersey over the current, the one where it's the same design but the yellow is replaced with gold. Above that tho my favorite pens jersey is the first robo penguin jersey that was basically the white Red Wings jersey but with yellow and black sleeves. Speaking of Red Wings, the white jersey will always be more iconic to me than the red. It makes more sense to have a stand out red sleeve when you're the Red Wings. I think I'd say that all of the original 6 white jerseys are more iconic in my mind, maybe save for the Blackhawks black third jersey. I REALLY like the white 2010s kings jersey. I didn't think I could ever see the kings jersey being anything but what Wayne wore, but I think that white with black jersey is probably my favorite jersey in the NHL's history.

The gold and purple are original to Kings. Lakers, from Minnesota, were white and blue, and adopted the gold and purple to match the Kings. Kings are also the only LA ("big 4") sports team to originate from LA and never relocated.

However, in the early 00s, they retire the blue Screaming Eagle and you had the white one for home and the black Capitol for away (and then flipped that when they went back to wearing whites on the road). That's how it was until they went to the Rock the Red era.

As someone who watched the Thrashers in high school, Georgia's state bird is the brown thrasher. And I never heard anyone say this but I think the logo is similar to the Warner Bros logo because Ted Turner and Time Warner were the original owners IIRC.
i love the blue screaming eagle for the Caps. It didn't last long at all and i hate the black capital logo that took its place. they ended up having to use the away jersey during the playoffs so it didn't look like they were playing in an empty arena. I would like the new W eagle as a chest logo jersey but they will probably only keep it as a third.

I definitely didn't like the Orange Crush look Adidas did for the Oilers jerseys, but the Burnt Orange jerseys that Reebok did were amazing, imo.
