This is pure Railfan VLOG, way better than other.....Awaiting more of such Superb VLOGS.
10:50 That has been my pet peeve with most of the LHB rakes across the trains. There isn't a consistent livery followed in most of the LHB rakes. Even for the conventional trains, the rakes end up with a humsafar or duronto coach slipping in between the traditional red-and-grey coaches. Kind of breaks the silhouette of the train.
The best thing about your videos is that you give all the information. Which train is passing, junction, which railway line is coming from where, going where etc.
I don't know if there is any rail fan or TH-camr who give all these info's

Congratulations for staying awake the night journey for covering almost the entire journey , this just shows your total commitment to make a good rail journey video with all information about trains , staions, lines etc. and your great passion as railfan. Also enjoyed the beatiful rainbow.
I was actually reading up about the route from Jammu Tawi to Banihal (connecting on the existing route to Baramulla), and it is incredibly interesting. The line from Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Banihal (under construction at the moment) is planned at 111 km long, out of which around 95 km of the railway line would be in tunnels, for the train only to come out and cross extremely deep gorges (over 200-400 feet deep). So I would have requested Avinash sir to cover the route when it opened, but I don't think it would be necessary, seeing that our poor Avinash would be just staring blankly at tunnel walls for most of the journey to Banihal.
Also, the history of this line is incredibly interesting. A summary of the highlights:
1. Pre-independence, Jammu Tawi was connected to Pathankot in the greater railway network by means of a circuitous routing via Sialkot in present-day Pakistan. The British had planned to extend this connection to Srinagar via Rawalpindi, as that side has more flat terrain and construction would be easy. However, before the plan would be debated and approved, independence happened, and Sialkot went to Pakistan, cutting off Jammu Tawi from the rest of the railway network.
2. After independence, not much work happens for decades, but after the attacks of 1965 and 1971 focusing their force on cutting off the roadways towards Jammu and the Kashmir Valley, the government re-opens the project to connect Pathankot to Jammu Tawi and beyond. The link to Jammu Tawi from Pathankot is completed and inaugurated by 1975, reconnecting Jammu Tawi to the railway network.
3. In 1983, another project to connect Udhampur to Jammu Tawi was inaugurated, and a survey was done to investigate the railway line towards Srinagar and Baramulla. The project to extend the line beyond Udhampur was scrapped, seeing the engineering challenges were not economically feasible. The line to Udhampur itself took 21 years (opening in 2004) and cost 1800 crore rupees to complete (in today's money).
4. After the Kargil invasion put the road network of India at massive risk, the govt realized that a rail connection was essential for maintaining the logistics of the military. Thus, the scrapped project from Udhampur to Baramulla was brought back into action, and the Vajpayee government put aside 23,000 crore rupees (in today's money) to finish the project at whatever cost.
5. Parallel to the construction of Udhampur to Banihal, the line in the Kashmir Valley from Qazigund to Baramulla was opened to use in 2009, with the extension from Qazigund to Banihal being completed by 2013. This might seem as an isolated section of the railway line, but people themselves say that it cuts down travel time from Banihal to different regions in the valley by as much as half (due to direct alignment of railway lines).
6. Now, we are waiting for the Katra to Banihal Section to open up and connect everything into place, which is now nearing completion, and expected to open in the next year.

Railway should extend all important trains between Jammu Tawi and SVDK station to reduce such overcrowding between SVDK and Jammu Station as most of the passenger have their trains from Jammu Station.

. i been to katra via vande bharat express in dec 2021 ... but came back to delhi by Laxmi Tavels sleeper bus .. as the return journey of vande bharat cancelled due to kisan andolan ....
.. well that was a first journey by a sleeper bus for us ... only problem travelling by bus is we are dependent on bus driver for toilet ... which is a major issue ...
