Interesting trivia: Four of the actor-cricketers in this movie are real sons of the characters they are playing. Chirag Patil is playing his father, Indian batsman Sandeep Patil. Carl Greenidge is playing his father Gordon Greenidge, West Indian opener. Mali Marshall is playing his father, the West Indian legend Malcolm Marshall. Besides, Mohinder Amarnath who was himself part of the 1983 India team, is here playing his father Lala Amarnath, the team’s Manager. Apart from these who played their own dads, two other West Indies cricketers’ sons are also in the movie though not playing their fathers - Jason Lloyd son of Clive Lloyd and Tagenarine Chanderpaul son of Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

I watched this movie with my brother and my dad. My dad was able to tell how many runs they and opponents score in total of each match, which player scored how many runs. And mind you he hasn’t watched this series coz who had tv in 1983 in Indian villages. He heard the match in a radio. After movie he shared a memory, during one of the match he went to a movie and that time during interval you have to go out to get some snacks. And the shopkeeper had the match on radio. No one returned to the theatre and sat infront of shop. He gives me anything i ask for except the remote when watching cricket match that is where he draw the line😂 i hated cricket growing up because of that😂😂

That person at 13:14 is real Kapil Dev who won the World Cup single handedly for India in 1983. He was one of the best captains India has produced. After that World Cup win a revolution started in India regarding cricket. Everyone started to take it seriously. Now we are one of the best cricketing nations around the world. Ranveer is actually portraying his character in this film.
