    My favorite day of any backpacking trip is when I find a real sweet spot and just take a zero and hang out....(swim, explore, fish, nap, read, etc). Semi to total solitude is part of that, of course.
    Enjoying your videos. 👍

    Looking at some simple adventures nearby such as Blue Lake and such and found this channel.

    I love all your videos and we just took our 3 kids on our first family backpacking trip that I've waited years to be able to do, to Shirt Lake! I guess we were just a couple weeks too early before being able to learn more about the trail from you. It was a little steep for the 3 year old, but I'd do it again in a heart beat, I posted a short video on my channel bc I couldn't find hardly anything about shirt Lake online, so this video is definitely needed!

    • @JonConti
      @JonConti  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! Ya that trail down can be sketchy for a 3 year old.

      @@JonConti I would usually read via the Kindle app on my phone, but that kills battery like no other. The kindle has insane battery life! It takes weeks before I need to charge.

    I loved the last part. I get so tired of seeing people complain about how many people are out. I've always wondered why those same people complaining think that they are different from the problem they are complaining about.

      @@JonConti Exactly!!! lol I'm on an Idaho Hiking FB page and some of the people are so rude to new people asking legitimate questions. Although kind of on the dumb side at times, I don't know why it is hard for experienced hikers to help educate beginners. Your Lake Loon video inspired us to go check that road out in early October. Can't wait to see it. Thanks!

    Another gem. Now why on earth is Shirt Lake not next to Pants Lake and Sweater Lake?

      @@JonConti So the name is actually Shirts lake. And according to my family, it got its name because my great-grandfather used to trail sheep through that area.

    Hey John local kuna’n here love your videos man. I have a 4 year old son and am looking at where to take him on his first little backpacking trip. Do you think this hike would give him problems? I’ve heard it’s steep but it’s the mountains… sometimes when people say that I’m always in wonder how steep it really is. I don’t think they have ever bushwhacked to a summit. Thanks man! Appreciate any info

    Been to that same spot before. The rock was partially exposed in the water when we were there so you could stand on top of it. Not much further to drive than the blue lake trailhead and a lot less crowded
