@@cece826 When we checked in, we didn't have to pay a security deposit. We did have to pay an environmental tax - new to Cancun. I believe it was very minimal - $10USD per room. At first they said it was 220, and we thought that was dollars!!!! thankfully, they clarified it was 220 pesos

If you stay at this hotel you’ll be like a 10 min bus ride from the downtown. Definitely recommend checking out the nightlife of downtown Cancun. Honestly the best food is everywhere on resort, it’s all great!! All the pools are excellent, and serve drinks all around. Depends what you like, there’s lots of draft beer, mixed drinks, and wines. So much to keep anyone content.

Loved the Video and which Airport is the nearest. How did you get into the Kulinarium, i thought that was for the Adults only section. Do you have to queue up or can you make reservations to go to the Restaurants. This is one main draw back with the Rui. Looking to Holiday next year.
You would fly into Cancun's international airport. We just walked up to the Kulinarium and they let us in. It may have been because they were slow that night and had a table for us 4 adults. You don't make reservation for the restaurants.. you have to show up when you want to eat. WE didn't find this to be a problem - if you get there right as the restaurant is opening - you'll get right in. Have a wonderful time on your holiday! are you going to book an excursions?

No restrictions! Any drink, all the food, whenever you want. Provided the bars and restaurants are open. They will close later in the evening. But then it's bed-time anyways! :) :)

We always book on a reputable travel website. We use Sunwing, Tripcentral, signature vacations, expedia, etc. Never had a problem with those vendors - and usually can find cheaper prices!
I'm headed to Cancun tomorrow and staying at the RIU PALACE Peninsula. I'm renting a car and wanted to know if you have any insight on the free self-parking?
That’s a great question. I’m not really sure about parking on-site. We took the bus from the airport. Maybe try calling a travel agency and ask them. They might have some insight. Have an amazing time !!!! Report back here and let us know how it was ! ☺️☺️☺️

Awesome !!! Congrats on your milestone! I had noooooo trouble with the food at RIU palace peninsula. It was terrific. We went to Bahia this past New Years, and noticed the RIU was better. Mind you, there’s probably places that are even better, but RIU checked all our boxes!! They even accommodated for dairy free and gluten free diets

Ashley J Hey Ashley, great news!!! The Buffetts AND the speciality restaurants are included in the all inclusive package. You can go to as many of them as you like throughout your stay. I’d recommend Krystal the fusion restaurant. It was my favourite. The head Chef raved about the Italian restaurant, but we didn’t get a chance to go. Have you booked this resort ?? Hmm I don’t remember. There was quite a variety of shows at peninsula through the week. We didn’t see the entertainment schedules at the other resorts. Maybe someone else may know??
They are indeed!! Everything on resort is included in your all-inclusive package. Not only that, you can go to the a la carte restaurants as many times as you like throughout your stay!! Are you guys looking forward to a specific restaurant???
Dewayne Westmoreland this is my favourite Caribbean resort I’ve been to. It offers so much, and everything is very well managed. Service is great, the view from the room is great, food ✔️ , and the ocean is perfect for swimming.

I like how organized with detail and descriptions you are in each area of the hotel. Bet those Adult Villas are costly ? Question : Which carrier did you use to book RIU from Toronto or did you book separately? As in flight then hotel ? We use Wetjet simply because we live in Edmonton and Kelowna, BC ; and their flights are non-stop (which I like ), however I can’t find any RIU RESORT options w/ WJ. My wife and I will defiantly go to this resort next year ( 2021) It’s more our style. BTW - your narrative is very clear - Thank you and Bravo 👏👏👏

Yes man!!! Their will be some folks at the hotel, but if you really want to go hard, you got it - coco bongos. Congo bar, and Monkey business are also reallllly good. Enjoy !! 😎👍🏻🤩

Nope! We just went down around 6 and walked right in to the a la cartes. If we waited until later 7:30-8, we’d have put our name on the wait list. Keep in mind, there was only 2-4 of us. I reckon if you have a big group, see what they can do for you in terms of a reservation. Ask for Javier , he’s the head chef and is very kind ! ☺️
Good idea! The fancy restaurants are called “a la carte” restaurants. It means you order off a menu. The steakhouse is called “Steakhouse”. Some restaurants have names, eg. Japanese is KABUKI, Mexican is TAMALES, fusion is KRYSTAL.
Ah yes! also Kulinarium the Seafood restaurant. It’s supposed to be an exclusive a la carte for the villas guests , but we walked right in and were seated. That one is way back behind the theatre.

Hey there Khrys! We prefer the peninsula over Americas. We just like the layout, beach, pools, and size of peninsula. It’s bigger than Americas which seems a little congested. I would however suggest Americas if adults only or proximity to the downtown nightlife are high priorities for you. Otherwise, peninsula is 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Happy to answer anymore questions you have !! Cloey Jane oh awesome !! Haven’t been to xel ha, but I hear it’s great! If you want a fulllllll party experience get reg tix at coco bongo. If you want more vip, waiter, easy bathroom access, spend the extra money on Goldmember. It’s worth it.
octavio crisanto ar RIU palace peninsula, they don’t have Lounge 24, instead they have the sports bar. It’s located at 8:30 in the video. The sports bar is open 24 and serves food and drink 24 hr a day.
We loved the Kulanarium. It was nice, seafood! Another one that was nice was krystal. So, RIU caribe is right next door. Las americas and RIU Cancun is much further down the road towards the downtown. You can hope on a bus to get there for $1usd. It’s the easiest way to get there. Fast and safe.
So it’s not classified as an adults only. But, there tends to be less children because there’s really not a lot of kids activities. The las americas is the adults only RIU in Cancun.

No, we didn’t experience that! There is a pool bar where people can get pretty tipsy, but we didn’t see any fights or people looking too drunk 🤷🏼♀️

You know, we didn't check out that pool during the day. If I were to guess, I would say yes - but I don't want to give you incorrect information.

Can you make reservations ahead of arrival for the a la carte restaurants?
No need. They accept walk-ups every evening. If they’re busy, they’ll let you wait for a table. Doesn’t take too long.

Stephan Quiroga ohhh. My friend, you’re in for a treat! We love peninsula. All inclusive means that you pay a package price and it covers all the food and drinks during your stay. Also, non-motorized water sports, pool activities and classes, and the fitness room is all included too. 👍🏻👍🏻

Awesome !!! Congrats on your milestone! I had noooooo trouble with the food at RIU palace peninsula. It was terrific. We went to Bahia this past New Years, and noticed the RIU was better. Mind you, there’s probably places that are even better, but RIU checked all our boxes!! They even accommodated for dairy free and gluten free diets

Unfortunately, the SPA is an extra fee. You may be able to snag a discount on spa services. Just ask. The fitness centre IS included in the all inclusive though.

Ashley J Hey Ashley, great news!!! The Buffetts AND the speciality restaurants are included in the all inclusive package. You can go to as many of them as you like throughout your stay. I’d recommend Krystal the fusion restaurant. It was my favourite. The head Chef raved about the Italian restaurant, but we didn’t get a chance to go.

Hmm I don’t remember. There was quite a variety of shows at peninsula through the week. We didn’t see the entertainment schedules at the other resorts. Maybe someone else may know??

Hm. It sort of depends on your tastes. I like Krystal because I like unique fusion dishes. The Mexican is pretty good. So is the Kulinarium

Dewayne Westmoreland this is my favourite Caribbean resort I’ve been to. It offers so much, and everything is very well managed. Service is great, the view from the room is great, food ✔️ , and the ocean is perfect for swimming.

Question : Which carrier did you use to book RIU from Toronto or did you book separately? As in flight then hotel ?
We use Wetjet simply because we live in Edmonton and Kelowna, BC ; and their flights are non-stop (which I like ), however I can’t find any RIU RESORT options w/ WJ. My wife and I will defiantly go to this resort next year ( 2021) It’s more our style. BTW - your narrative is very clear - Thank you and Bravo 👏👏👏

This vacation we used Sunwing vacations and booked through their site. They had a promotion on , and the villas were the same price as a regular tower room! So keep an eye out for those sales.

Nice video! I'm going there with my family next month. I'm 20 years old and love to party wild... would you say there are people aged 18-25 that would also party hard? Or would I have to go to Cocobongo or other discos outside of the hotel to find that?
Yes man!!! Their will be some folks at the hotel, but if you really want to go hard, you got it - coco bongos. Congo bar, and Monkey business are also reallllly good. Enjoy !! 😎👍🏻🤩

Nope! We just went down around 6 and walked right in to the a la cartes. If we waited until later 7:30-8, we’d have put our name on the wait list. Keep in mind, there was only 2-4 of us.
I reckon if you have a big group, see what they can do for you in terms of a reservation. Ask for Javier , he’s the head chef and is very kind ! ☺️

The fancy restaurants are called “a la carte” restaurants. It means you order off a menu. The steakhouse is called “Steakhouse”. Some restaurants have names, eg. Japanese is KABUKI, Mexican is TAMALES, fusion is KRYSTAL.

Ah yes! also Kulinarium the Seafood restaurant. It’s supposed to be an exclusive a la carte for the villas guests , but we walked right in and were seated. That one is way back behind the theatre.

Hey there Khrys! We prefer the peninsula over Americas. We just like the layout, beach, pools, and size of peninsula. It’s bigger than Americas which seems a little congested. I would however suggest Americas if adults only or proximity to the downtown nightlife are high priorities for you. Otherwise, peninsula is 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.

How do we get the private villa
When booking, you should see different categories of room types. Select the villa option. If you don’t see it, they might all be reserved already.
Where Is It lounge 24h?
octavio crisanto ar RIU palace peninsula, they don’t have Lounge 24, instead they have the sports bar. It’s located at 8:30 in the video. The sports bar is open 24 and serves food and drink 24 hr a day.

We loved the Kulanarium. It was nice, seafood! Another one that was nice was krystal.
So, RIU caribe is right next door. Las americas and RIU Cancun is much further down the road towards the downtown. You can hope on a bus to get there for $1usd. It’s the easiest way to get there. Fast and safe.
Is this adult only also?
So it’s not classified as an adults only. But, there tends to be less children because there’s really not a lot of kids activities. The las americas is the adults only RIU in Cancun.
