Drummer's (Rick Allen) left arm had to be amputated in 1984 due to a bad car accident.... that drum set was made for/and by him..... he was back with Def Leppard playing in the Netherlands just 2 weeks after he was released from the hospital (he spent 4 weeks in hospital)! If you look you can see that his left arm is gone in a few shots in the video..... Pretty amazing that 1) he didn't throw in the towel after the amputation 2) The band stood by him when so many others would've just replaced him..... Says a lot about them as human beings not just as one of the most popular and successful rock/"Hair" Bands of all time..... Stand- Up human beings!

Rick Allen's drum kit is actually 2 drum kits in one. His left foot uses pedals that create the same sounds that his left arm would be playing if he still had it!! Over 40 years later the band can still sell out stadiums with crowds half their age!! The band is amazing!!

Well the crowd was wound up due to the fact that they hadn't toured for over 3 years after Rick Allen lost his arm in an accident. They came off the road from their "Pyromania" tour and took some time off before recording the "Hysteria" album. While waiting for Rick, Mutt Lange stopped working with them and they had a hard time getting the record together. As the story goes Mutt came back when they were almost done and the band wanted to if Rick was ready to tour again, they had a back-up drummer waiting in the wings, they did a small show in England and Rick killed it. As they say "the rest is history".

Great band, but this song (Pour some sugar...) is possibly the worst song they ever did. The best of Def Leppard is from the 'High n' Dry' album and the 'Pyromania' album. You gotta listen to Emm Gryner's cover of this song. She turns it into a gorgeous piano ballad, and you won't believe how good it it. The lead singer was so impressed that he did a duet with her on a later album, and had her open for their tour in one of her bands.

Great band, but this song (Pour some sugar...) is possibly the worst song they ever did. The best of Def Leppard is from the 'High n' Dry' album and the 'Pyromania' album.
