    Awesome transcription, pretty much spot on. Nice job! 😎I want to give you one advise for your future transcriptions to help to read the notation: Try to make the beats of the bar visible, so it's easier for the reader to understand the syncopation. I'll give you an example from the first bar:
    The 5th note (the quarter note) is directly over the beat 3. If you split that up to 2 tied eight notes, the beat 3 becomes visible, and the relation of the note to the beat is easier to grasp.
    Same kind of thing happens in the seventh note (the g# eight note); it lies on top of beat 4. Split it up to two tied 16th notes, and the 4th beat becomes visible.
    All in all, creating groupings in the length of quater note helps to undestand the rhythm, especially in music based on quarter not beats. Long notes like half or whole notes, unless of course they are syncopated, are an exception in this. 😉 I hope I'm not stepping on your toes by saying this, I just think this would be helpful for you and any other transcriber who happens to read this. ☺

    Insane cover, insane bass in that song. You know that shit goes hard when even when having tabs, slowing it to 75% the rhythm is still so hard to get right as it is super syncopated.

    How do you play the notes with an X over it?

    • @charlesplaysbass
      @charlesplaysbass  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’re ghost notes, so there’s not really a note you just strike the string while you mute it with left hand

  • @lucacampassibonini462
    @lucacampassibonini462 ปีที่แล้ว

    What plug ins did you add to this mix? Got some trouble trying to get a close tone...

    • @charlesplaysbass
      @charlesplaysbass  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! I actually only used a little compression and subtle EQ. That sound is mainly coming from me palm muting the strings. Also helps to use flatwound strings and have both pickups on (if you have a bass with 2 pickups). I hope that helps, feel free to ask any other questions 🙌🏼

    I am a guitar player who is learning bass and I can't keep up with the speed and I'm not quite comfortable with the longer frets, any tips you could give me? Great cover btw!

    • @charlesplaysbass
      @charlesplaysbass  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hey dude! Best tip any teacher has given me that I’ve found applies to learning anything: slow it down until you find the speed that you can play it perfectly, even if it’s ridiculously slow. Play it at that speed about 10 times. You’ll find that when you speed it up from there, it gets easier and your brain just needed to register the muscle memory first. Sometimes you need to give it a day or 2 for your brain to lock it in during sleep. Then when you come back the next day the movement is even faster. Best of luck, if you get stuck again, I give lessons too! I’ve specifically worked with a lot of guitar players learning bass. Email me if you’re ever interested! iplaybassallday@gmail.com

    This sounds way too good! How do you stop that like strange squeaking noise from occurring when you slide between frets?

    • @charlesplaysbass
      @charlesplaysbass  ปีที่แล้ว

      Try flatwound strings! They sound much less bright. That combined with some EQ (I rolled off some of the high frequencies). But tell me if that helps!

    its supposed to read

    A| 4
    E| 2 2 2 2 0

      Yes I mentioned that in the pinned comment at the top of the video, was just a notation error. Thanks for looking out and glad the tab helped 👌🏼
