nowhere this is a true abandoned find.... a very clean and neat engine bay and undercarriage... salt water spray and /or pain remover and leave exposed to tropical weather will make a good corrosion impression.
Anyone else notice that these guys always find “perfectly ruined” projects to work on? That and nothing on the engine was repaired/re-surfaced?? Something isn’t adding up. That’s a LOT of work to be done on something abandoned since ‘66. I think there’s a lot there we’re not seeing, as well. That said, it’s still fascinating to watch them restore things.

It's fun watching these guys work, because a lot of interesting things are still being done (i.e. completely tearing apart, and re-assembling an engine)...but, every one of their "restoration" projects all seem to have the exact same amount of dirt on them, then only need certain, seemingly helf-*ss repairs, etc... Something else I've learned is that, in this part of the world (Indo-Chinese countries) there's a LOT of people playing games with TH-cam videos that spans a lot of different topics, and industries. They all "create" problems...so, they can look like hero's providing a solution. Apparently, Biden, and the Democrats have taught them well. But, I digress.... 👍

If this car was actually abandoned outside for decades there would be pitting, corrosion, animal nests and a lot of damage to the interior of the vehicle.

This type of vehicle was built with metal to serve the purpose of military assault vehicle were meant to last. Perhaps you are right with your assessment if you are living close to the restorers. However if you are not with them then just give them the benefit of your doubt. But for some of us who are interested in vehicles restorations and repairs it's just fun to look at and learn something from it.
Boy, didn't rectify the crankshaft, connecting rods, block, head, didn't change any bearings, or rings, It was easier just to wash the engine on the outside and change the oil 😁 it saved time.
