I used to watch Gary about 20 years ago when HGTV was brand new. I always remember his love of Lantana, Aztec grass, and patio trees in groups of 3, and the paint marker! Wish they still did landscaping shows. I'm redoing my front yard and wanted some of Gary's advice. :)
I just like him so much... he makes me dream about what I cannot have, but yet is possible in my state with what grows here... that's a good garden landscaper...
Gary, I know this video is from a while back, but thought I would say thanks for sharing. I particularly liked you opening up the front entrance by getting rid of (or transplanting) the overgrown bushes. I actually hired a landscape architect to redesign my starter home yard, and that was one of the main things he did, too. The builder had piled up bushes right in front of the front door walk way. My guy did a great job redesigning it and everything else in the front, side, and back yards. Then I found the material and a wholesale nursery in the next county over and planted it all myself -- after I brought in and tilled in TWO dump trucks of compost.
