    Thanks. As usual I got a gold nugget or two by watching how you did certain things. As a long time Chief user, I tend to turn off all the Automatic settings, as they did not do what I wanted or needed, but now you've improved those features as long as we are mindful of all the new settings that can and should be reset.

    In the deep south where I live, the way you just described to build a foundation would be extremely expensive. We use a 8" thick x 24" wide footings with CMU on top to provide the floor bearing with 2 x 6 P.T. sill to place joists on. We also use pillars instead of full internal bearing walls. Everything bears on top of CMU. I've found that I have a hard time getting accurate foundation wall dimensions so I don't use CA for foundations at all. I use AutoCad for that. With all the code requirements in a hurricane prone zone, making up all those required details in CA is too much since I can do it faster in Autocad.
