It seems a very recent update may have broken 7th Deck somewhat. Im keeping a look out for an update, but for now, a workaround is to use proton version 3.7-8
Most of the Tsunamods are great imo. Worth downloading, although it will take roughly 17.4GB once all of them are installed and configured. It'll make the game look incredible.

struggling to find where the save file goes to on the steam deck with 7th heaven. i can find the default file from the ff7 game itself, but not my 7th heaven save. any pointers? spent ages looking for it and fear it's going to be somewhere embarrassingly obvious lol. For some reason i cant get sound working with 7th heaven unless im using media mods. Natively music and sfx dont play. If i use Cosmo Memory, sfx tend to loop repeatedly which is really off putting :(
Honestly not sure..I'm not seeing any issues on my side. Il try take a look tomorrow but there are audio adjustment settings with 7th heaven. You might need to tweak these or use a different version of proton. Also depends on the mods you are combining
This was working great for me. All of sudden when i launch 7th heaven in gaming mode now none of my steam deck controls work for FF7. It works perfectly fine when launching in desktop mode. Any idea here? Steam compatibility is enabled.

This is typically for a new install. Assuming you already had it installed previously. Go to steam and browse local install folder and check for saves. It may have overwritten them
After following your instructions I can start up the game trough 7th heaven. But my controls don’t work I can even choose load game or start a new one 😅. Does somebody has a solution for me please 🙏

Hi there. No, I've had no issues with installing ninostyles. It's literally one of the mods ive installed in this tutorial. Might sound silly to ask but check disk drive space. Might be failing as its trying to expand the compressed data
Once I launch the game, I don’t have sound. When I go to the Launch settings and test the sound, I get an exception and exit. Has anyone else encountered this error?
With the new 4.0 Update, i only get error messages. "This operation on a KVObject can only be used when the value has children” Do you know how I can pass that?

Hey there. You can do this by simple first uninstalling the actual steam installation of ff7 directly from the steam menus. Then remove the 7th deck folder thereafter so in my case I used the desktop folder 7th Heaven in this tutorial. Thanks for watching. I don't know what went wrong with mine. Followed the steps, but when launching from 7th heaven, it gets stuck on Attempting to inject with 7th wrapper loader. My game only boots up once I close all other windows, but it is buggy and no mods work

You can set this up within the 7th heaven settings directly and assign shortcuts. Please be aware fast forward does not work with certain mods. Maybe consider supporting My channel by subscribing thanks

Hey if I’m using an older version of 7th heaven from your previous video. If I wanted to use this new version is a complete reinstall using this method or is there a way to update what I currently have? I’m using 3.2.0
I'd recommend taking a backup of your ff7 saves first. Once you have this done you can go ahead and follow this video. It will overwrite the previous version and install mods from scratch
Hey man! Your tutorial was amazing, it worked. Unfortunately just today the controls suddenly stopped working out of nowhere. The Steam Deck buttons suddenly don't respond anymore and I don't know what to do. Do you have any idea what I can do? I'm so freaking sad 😭
Strange. Il need some time to Investigate. For now try another version of proton to see if that helps. I've just researched. It's a glitch with the new version. Use version proton 3.7-8
When I change settings in game driver it won’t affect the game when I press play even if I change the aspect ratio to 4:3 or turn off the analog controls when I open the game it always opens in 16:9 and it has the analog controls on, I tried too see if my driver was outdated but it said it was up to date so now I’m stuck with these driver settings

Got it working on the 2nd attempt. Something must have went wrong installing from Konsole the first time. Mods work flawlessly now. Thanks for your tuturials
Having the same issue others are reporting. When I open my 7th heaven, when clicking anything like settings, it becomes unresponsive and then have to force quit to leave the application

@Heaaaps Sorry to bother you man But I'm having an issue. I had everything working briefly but now running into an issue. I understand once the mods are downloaded and set I can then boot from the original Exe in steam game mode as per the end of your vid... The issue however is that when I try to boot the game in desktop from the mod launcher I get some weird error saying "lost ans found" essentially saying it cannot locate the game. The OG version of the game boots obviously as normal but it's not recognizing the mods that were applied. My main concern is why can't I boot tye game anymore from the mod manager and why aren't the mods being applied when running the regular game from desktop mode? Thanks I really want this working again! I will donate if you help me that's how serious I am lol
@Heaaaps Lost and Found It checks the usual path where the game installs. Everything is set and in it's proper place but it won't boot the game from the manager and it shows that message. It seems like it's having an issue recognizing or locating the game Initially the fnxx driver couldn't be located which is normal but then installed after I updated the manager and showed up as normal juat like your vid. Juat can't boot game from the manager. No clue why
Hero. I'm PC/Deck only and been feeling left out with all the noise around Rebirth, seeing an up to date guide uploaded 2 days ago is a dream! Having a great time ignoring 99% of mods, as I find anything that doesn't look or sound like OG FF7 to be total sacrilege. Cheers!
Hi, Thank you for the tutorial. I followed the video and installed everything. I then launched 7th heaven, everything seems ok. However, during launch, I noticed in the console (but I didn't have time to pause to analyze) that it had changed the language of the game, in addition to deleting my saves (no big deal ). I would like to keep the game in French, but, despite having tried to force the language of FF7 to French, and having passed 7th Heaven in French too (you never know, whether it was based on that to install a pack language above that of the game), I still have the game in English. I'll do some research later, but do you know if there's a way around this? Thanks again.

@angelgonzalez4871 I have not seen a problem naming cloud. Can you try plug in a keyboard and mouse and check result. Also try run it in desktop mode or gaming mode vice versa

If you previously played the Steam version of FF7 and now are playing a modded version w/ 7th Heaven, you need to copy your save game files (.ff7 extension) from 'C:\Users\User\Documents\Square Enix\FINAL FANTASY VII Steam\user_########' to your FF7\saves folder in order to resume your progress.

Seems to only recognise keyboard keys when ran through gaming mode all of a sudden.

Sounds like a formatting issue of some form. Have you tried factory resetting your steam deck

Having the same issue others are reporting. When I open my 7th heaven, when clicking anything like settings, it becomes unresponsive and then have to force quit to leave the application
A new issue then. Possibly a issue with new version of proton or 7th deck. It tried it this morning myself without issues but i haven't updated yet
@@Heaaaps fascinating, I appreciate the immediate response. I did update to something this morning and tried following but with no luck. I’m guessing these sorts of things don’t necessarily go away unless it gets reported, would you know where I can do that so I can check back in a month or so?

It look like the 7th Deck file has been completely changed. Your method doesn't work anymore
I just did it this morning without issues. Why are you saying this method doesn't work anymore? Installation is the same
Does this include a mod for increasing game speed ?
You can do this in 7th heaven manager. Enable a shortcut for speed increase. Please note this feature is not compatible with certain mods

Once 7th Heaven is added to your steam library, right click it & pull up properties.
You should see a box for Launch Options.
In this text field, add the following: /PROFILE:Default /LAUNCH /QUIT

But I'm having an issue. I had everything working briefly but now running into an issue. I understand once the mods are downloaded and set I can then boot from the original Exe in steam game mode as per the end of your vid...
The issue however is that when I try to boot the game in desktop from the mod launcher I get some weird error saying "lost ans found" essentially saying it cannot locate the game.
The OG version of the game boots obviously as normal but it's not recognizing the mods that were applied.
My main concern is why can't I boot tye game anymore from the mod manager and why aren't the mods being applied when running the regular game from desktop mode?

It checks the usual path where the game installs. Everything is set and in it's proper place but it won't boot the game from the manager and it shows that message. It seems like it's having an issue recognizing or locating the game
Initially the fnxx driver couldn't be located which is normal but then installed after I updated the manager and showed up as normal juat like your vid. Juat can't boot game from the manager. No clue why

Thank you for the tutorial. I followed the video and installed everything. I then launched 7th heaven, everything seems ok. However, during launch, I noticed in the console (but I didn't have time to pause to analyze) that it had changed the language of the game, in addition to deleting my saves (no big deal ). I would like to keep the game in French, but, despite having tried to force the language of FF7 to French, and having passed 7th Heaven in French too (you never know, whether it was based on that to install a pack language above that of the game), I still have the game in English. I'll do some research later, but do you know if there's a way around this?

I'm not sure but It depends on the mods. Majority of mods only support English

Hey there so this guide worked perfectly but for some reason when I’m at the point where to name cloud for some reason the cursors gets all screwed up and won’t let me select the name
You may have mods installed that are causing conflicts with each other. Disable each mod one by one and find the culprit

@angelgonzalez4871 I have not seen a problem naming cloud. Can you try plug in a keyboard and mouse and check result. Also try run it in desktop mode or gaming mode vice versa
@@Heaaaps like the game controls fine during the normal parts of the game its only when im about to name the charcaters that the controls just dont seem to work

Getting an error about max installation and missing files

So how do I import my save?
I’m 40 hours in on vanilla, installed everything perfectly, but it won’t illuminate the “Continue” button upon main menu.
If you previously played the Steam version of FF7 and now are playing a modded version w/ 7th Heaven, you need to copy your save game files (.ff7 extension) from 'C:\Users\User\Documents\Square Enix\FINAL FANTASY VII Steam\user_########' to your FF7\saves folder in order to resume your progress.

I found the file. Just not sure where to place it for 7th heaven to recognize it.
@DM-dk7js there's a default location but you can install 7th heaven wherever you want. Il have to check the default location but won't get a chance for a few days. Il try update here thereafter
does using this disable steam achievements?
There is instruction in this video to ensure achievements still work. No if you follow my guide achievements will work fine

No, unfortunately not. I will look into it but will be a while
ROG ally setup is the regular 7th heaven setup since it's a windows device, find a regular 7th heaven installation guide

I fixed it. But I had to factory reset the steam. It gave me a pkill proton9 error.
