Amazing New Zealand Train Adventure - The Northern Explorer

In this video, we finally ride Kiwi Rail's Northern Explorer, of Great Journeys New Zealand. We boarded the train in Hamilton, 2 stops south of the train's origin, Auckland. Our journey would take us all the way south to Wellington! This video features our ride south, into Wellington. We had such an amazing time on this trip. The passenger cars were absolutely beautiful! Windows all around made for some gorgeous panoramic views from our seats. And the open air car was perfect to see and experience even more, wile stretching our legs.
The audio commentary provided so much cool history in real time as we passed notable areas and landmarks. The food was SO good. (As were the mimosas.) And the staff were absolutely LOVELY. So kind, always smiling and very helpful.
I can't wait to not only do this ride again, but it's made me even more excited to ride the TranzAlpine and Coastal Pacific.
