killakev0651 you fucked it up
New favorite grind so I want to learn them before winter comes. Board slides are also super fun on a waxed round rail. This summer I’ve finally committed to learning grinds and I love it.
2:40 THE GUY DOIN A WHEELIE!!!!!!
just noticed too XD
haha i was just sitting there like waaaat
lol! same here - must be a popular spot for talent :P
This is a great tutorial but please let me add one tip that as soon as I applied instantly had the trick. Keep your front shoulder closed. It will keep you locked in. If you open your shoulders you will fall out. If it helps think of it as the same as a nose slide but with that front shoulder closed in. Parallel with the rail not your board.
One tip he didn't show in this video is that if u don't put enough weight in ur front foot you will do a lazy grind to fix it just put more weight on your front rather then your back or middle
i hate when i put too much weight on my middle foot
I have a problem with putting too much weight on my front foot and I always stick before completing the grind. Always loved crooks and really wanna get this one down.
@@zimboogum1234 lean back
THANK YOU AARON! I've been struggling with crooks lately. I keep sticking at the end of the ledge, I'm gonna try these tips tomorrow!
Bro same
wow the guy in the back with the motorcycle
Ikr?! That guy in the backround is riding a wheelie
At 2:17
I watch this video and went outside and learned it in a hour!! Thank man!
One good way to learn this move is to start off on just a nice little slick curb and that way you don't even have to ollie. You can just step onto the little curb in the same basic way as a noseslide only you make sure the front truck slips on to the top as well. Of course I never really tried to master this move down by any means as while it's actually pretty easy,I just prefer 5-0's,Salads and last but not least,Suski grinds. I actually learned the Susuki grind by accident before I even knew that it had it's own name as a trick and just thought that it was just another variant of the Salad grind, which is physically true to a certain degree, but Salads are defined as being angled the same as a feeble, only that you're still leaning back and keeping the front trucks up while the Suski is basically angled the same way outward as a Smith grind, only you're still keeping the front trucks up in the air. Suski and Feeble grinds are nothing more than tweeked out 5-0 grinds, but I now naturally just do a Suski anytime I just try a 5-0 most the time anymore, which is fine because I like the crooked angle look better anyway. I've still never even done a Nose grind even once in my life by accident, unlike the Crooked grind, which when I was skating was referred to as a K grind as in Krooked grind. Still K grinds do tend to be fun if you nail them down just right, but I could never master them on a consistent repeated basis.
ok
Those bike riders made me laugh!
I can do crooked to fakie's like it's nothing but when I try it to regular the boar just flips over.
Keagan Okeefe gosh it’s 4 years, did you solve it? I can do them to fakie or with nollie shuvit out super easily but it just flips like retarded at the end of the ledge. Any tips?
@@medl99 hmmm I wonder if he ever got it
To fix this problem, keep your shoulders more parallel to the ledge. ;)
@@medl99 Lean back the whole time, this way you can just exit the grind like you would a noseslide
That’s just a switch salad grind
Aaron you should make a few more flatground trick tutorials so we know what to learn after SMS 1

bro on the motorbike going crazy 2:50
im getting the crook very well but as im coming out of it my board always flips not fully only half
If you have trouble getting out of crooks, treat it kind of like how you do a slappy or a little hop over a crack. Don't put so much weight on the board, and just give it a little nudge forward.
yo that bench looks perfect. where can I find one of those?
Thank you aaron
Thanks guys!!
Thank you ur videos have helped Me be able to break down my tricks nd learn them drastic inprovement from last year. Like I had a pro spovsor come back to his home town and see me and was like How The he'll u learn all this in one summer...thanks
Aaron your a great skater
literally my only problem is when i get on my board sticks and wont slide
You may just need to wax up the ledge. You can buy wax on lots of online stores just search up skate wax. Then wax up the ledge and you should slide easily. If you can't afford wax or aren't allowed it, idk just use butter or something
+Barreled Jr Use a candle
+Matthew DiGiovanna candle that L son!
Go faster
None of these responses are going to help you...assuming you understand to wax the ledge first...I highly doubt by the time you're ollying onto ledges to bust crookeds, you haven't realized that things need to be waxed...when you can't get a grind to slide, going faster doesn't help...going faster only helps when you can already do the grind and you're trying to go further...this problem of sticking everytime is a lack of a mental comfort level with the trick...It's not so much that you're sticking that it is you're bailing...one way to get through this is to find an artificial wood picnic table, wax the bench part and just place you board in a crooked position then while holding the tail and having your front foot on the nose and your body standing behind the board's grinding direction, push off with your back foot and slide like you're doing a crooked and each time you try this, try and hop more and more onto your front foot, then do the same as you try to let go of the tail more and more, once you start getting that, try to do all of that and get your back foot on the board eventually and land it by going off of the end of the bench...if you can go and stop but remain on the board in a crooked grind stance that's even better and you can try to kind of nollie out ...as you do this you're getting your mind ready for the feel of how it's going to feel when you crooked grind...once your mind has gotten comfortable with the notion of this crooked grind sliding feeling and it becomes almost easy to push and get both feet up on the board, you now are ready for the last part and that is to ollie onto the grind...at first you're probably going to plant and stick again but just remind yourself of how it felt when you slid...invision that or just do it again with you hand and pushing into the grind...then go for another ollie attempt...What is helpful to if you stick still, is to go up and just make a stall, fuck it,...ride up and if you're already going to stick anyways, atleast stay with it and just do a stall...(wink wink....once you do that assuming you're making sure the bench is super slick...you will slide, trust me...just think of it as if you're rolling up to do a crooked stall...) BLOAW!!! There you have it...try it and tell me it doesn't work...bet you'll be back here stoked that you got it...let me know...P.S. This is coming from a rollerblader...ha straight up...but I've skateboarded longer than I've rollerbladed but anyways let me know what happens...all these other responses are exactly what you're gonna hear if you ask anyone else...
That under the board clip was 👌
Some real cool motorbike skills in the background
Yo nice video man but you did a nose slide for the last half of the slow mo video just so you could show us popping out. It was a crooked can you teach us how to pop out of a crooked a can't get it

You should do a "How To Backside 50-50" turorial!!!
I've been waiting for this
@ Brian reniero u need to come in @ an angle and hold your foot positioning while hitting the obstacle ur over turning too much.
The guy with the motor bike doing a weillie 0:10
Why does it flip for me when I get to the end of the ledge???
Does it matter how loose or tight your trucks are?
from where do you have that ledge?
sick trick tip, actually explaining!!
Love the background music!
Does anyone know where i can get that ledge hes using in the video
anybody else notice the guy popping a wheelie on his motor cycle in the back round at 0:42
This helped a lot!
Did you make this bench?
yup
Howd he get the camera view under the trucks like that 0:33
Hi Aaron i really love you and your videos but i must say that at 2:53 this is not a crooked grind anymore , seems to me like this s a bs noseslide. If I'm wrong please correct me. Have a nice day !
Would you suggest loose trucks for this? Or would tight trucks make it more difficult?
I can do them sometimes but my main problem not locking in all the time and then when i do the biard flips and when i try to do a lil nollie at the end i feel like the biard flips faster
Did you make that bench
What would the grind be called if it was angled the other way (tail is over the seat/box and not hanging out)
overcrook
clean
What kind of wood is the top of that bench made of?
WOOOOOOO THATS COOL
Does anyone see the motorbike doing the wheelie in the background
Thanks arron!:D
0:35 GoPro Camera?
It's harder on cement ledges
How do I do one on a rail?
I can do these but they’re sooo inconsistent, only like 1-2 a day, my problem is mainly getting out of it
Ya push it forward. Little nollie off. Sign up on Braille Army + for coaching if needed
How saw the guy doing wheelies
make a how to front smith
Lean back and push your front foot into the side of the ledge or rail
Hey Aaron, I'm from Brazil and I'm getting a big trouble with my crooked grind, I think i'm locking on my truck on the ledge and sliding perfectly, but when I try to get off of the trick, my board flips and I can never Land it! I hope someone helps me. Sorry for the english
Background music's bass is so loud with headphones.
What kind of camera did you use for the under the board shot?
GoPro
Iv gotten these down a tad bit but it stops right when I'm getting speed on the rail/curb/ledge it just stops and I do this weird nose stall and get out
It's probably stalling cause u aren't going fast enough or u either are doing it on an unwaxed curb
Needed this video:))
Do a HOW TO BOARDSLIDE THE EASIEST WAY! :)
Is it just me, or did anyone else see that dude doing the motorcycle manual at 2:44?
2:19 in the background, you're welcome
I always do a stupid willy...

I want to learn so much shit and it's hard to focus on one. I want to learn tricks in and out of manuals but I want to learn fs 5-0, but I want to learn bs 5050, but I want to learn fs 5050 kickflip out, but I want to learn rock and roll but I want to kickflip the 5 stair
Zew Kee learn them all
do an over-crook video
The dude doing a wheelie in the background 🙏🏻😭
2:18 look to the left
I'm always thinking its a nose slide but it's not
anyone else notice the guy in the background doing a wheelie on a motor bike?
Is there some other tricks I should know before this?
And nose slide
+Dawgs Skateboarding nah you don't need nose slides. I can get in to crooks just fine and nose slides are impossible for me
cool
2:37 whisky slow mo
Can someone give me an advice because I learnt how to jump on the crooked grind stationery and I can do it pretty well but when it comes do it rolling (even really really slow) I just can`t. Sometimes I jump but I don`t put my majority of my weight on the nose and I do like low crooked grind or something like smith but on the front truck and when I put the majority of my weight on the nose I stop or I can`t lock in good. Please somebody help me.
My trucks are loose but I`m going pretty parallel to the ledge and about one board length from it. Well just like I did stationery but it`s just diffrent rolling.
Aye Aaron's crooks are pinched
whats that mean?
John Paul It means that the axle on which he is standing on is pinched, like when you get wheel bite
Does that make it steezier or the opposite way?
Yeah, it looks steezier cause you're standing on less of the truck @John Paul
John Paul Yeah, it looks steezier
I Have this trick Fairly well I think, i can do it on ledges, round rails, Hubbas, and Handrails. However, You should make a trick tip for Kickflip Crooked Grinds! Who Agrees?
does any see that guy doing that wheelie in the back at 2:17...
2021 :)
