Totally agreed, the music was Amazing, spento hours on the arcade First and on the PS1 with this gem. None of the sequels managed to capture the feeling of this game

Out of all of the soul calibur female characters, I think both Taki and Sophitia are the hottest women ever. I mean Taki’s got one of those cute ponytail hair designs despite her serious ninja attitude and Sophitia is both kind, beauty and headstrong.
Still an all-time great, and TBH better in most regards than the more modern games. The disarm mechanic never appeared in the series again to my knowledge, which is sort of a shame. And yeah, I watched the entire intro too!

What's in a way, I want the title, soul edge to come back, based off of, I miss it so much, also, this game needs to be a remastered, not rebooted, remastered, also, when I was playing this game, Li Long, was the main guy that I played with, later on, when it came to, soul caliber two, I mainly played with some of the women characters, but my main character that I play with is, Talim and Taki.
I remember normies and Sonyfanboys claiming that Tekken was the best fighting game for PS1 and I was like "Bitch please! Soul Blade is much better.". Also SB is my second favorite fighting game for PS1 after Rival Schools.

Honestly such a shame these days to see this series in the state it’s in when it had such a strong beginning. First the OST totally slaps. The Arranged soundtrack is good too, but the OST is where it’s at. Second the weapon break mechanic should have came back and with today’s technology is should totally be possible. Third the graphics for their time were actually VERY impressive as were the animations: not something the series is known for any longer. Fourth, while the story was basic it leaves a bigger impact than the stupid past and future self bullshit they tried to try to fix the fuck ups of 4 and 5 whose stories were meh (4) and total horse shit (5). Fun fact, the water platforms do actually move in a wave motion from lower right to lower left clockwise. You may get seasick watching it if you aren’t careful. It wasn’t a developer trick.

And the second game & series name change to Soul Calibur. Ether the editor-in-chief or the owner of the Edge videogame magazine filed a copyright law suit for anything to do with videogames that had word "Edge" in the title. I believe he lost every suit.

Hell yeah, the classics! My brother and i had a lot of fun with it. Taki was my main while Hwang was my brother's main.

I remember when I played Soul Edge at the arcades, back in the day. A good memory of mine... this is one of the best fighting games ever made.
There have been some great fighting game soundtracks, but Soul Edge will never be surpassed. The Original and Khan Super Session are both outstanding.

The fmv CGI models were a big step from Tekken 2 and leaps from Tekken freaks. Love most of the lsuper Kahn session tracks.
