Fact: The whole performance during the SEA Games Opening Ceremony shows the history of the Philippines through the dance and music genres.
From the Sarimanok (Dancing Rooster) to Singkil (King and Queens dancing with bamboo sticks) to Spanish Colonization (Lajota) to Modern Day (KJ Inigo and Elmo performance). Something like that. There sure is a lot more to be included in the history but maybe that was the best way for them to simplify the whole sequence of changes in history up to date.

The flag of the Philippines has 3 stars that represent Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The 8 rays of the sun, represents the provinces that were conquered (correct me if i am wrong, fellow Filipinos) during the time of the wars. If blue is at the upper part of the flag, then it means that everything is at peace. If the red part is at the upper part, then there is war. 😉

The songs sung by Iñigo Pascual & Elmo Magalona were written and originally sung by Elmo's late dad Francis M., the Phils. king of Rap. the songs he's written shows his dedication to our country.

House lifting/carrying by people is a filipino tradition of neighboring people and helping each other to a family who wants to transfer their native house somewhere in the nearest location.

The lifting of the house on the part of Christian B. and Aicelle Santos was one of the traditions of the Filipinos. It shows the unity and generosity of every Filipino. Long time ago Philippine houses was made of bamboos and other light materials and you can actually lift it when you want to transfer it. And that is when Filipinos helped each other. That is called BAYANIHAN.

Your mentioning about the background graphics, its actually represents the filipino ethnic designs coming from indigenous people from every part of the country. Kz,inigo and elmos songs are songs from the late master rapper francis magallona.
