The Hue & Cry Music Club and the weekenders were both tremendous successes. I remember waiting eagerly for the open soul recording sessions videos to drop, they were brilliant insights into the creation of the album. It's a period in time that is was so special being a Hue & Cry fan, you felt the connection between everyone
Great memories gor sure. Have been lucky enough to be present at 2 of the fan club weekends with my late wife at ABC in Glasgow, both fantastic experiences 👏. Looking forward to Birmingham Town Hall in the coming weeks 👍

Very true and interesting about the importance of connecting with fans directly (as possible) , because as an artist you can find the balance between doing what you want and doing what the fans want. So many old bands just play their old 80s hits and never dare to experiment, make new music etc. But Hue & Cry do! 👏

I remember coming into my mum's from somewhere and the Hit Me Baby One More Time TV series was playing. My mother blurted, "Hey, Hue and Cry were on!" She, of course, recalled you from the Seduced and Abandoned and Remote years (I played the singles from that era a fair bit and had the promotional videos and Bitter Suite on VHS ). She added emphatically, "And they were good." I caught up with it on a repeat ... and you *were* good. ☺ I was glad you were being recognised and enjoying a revival. See you in November in Manchester!

My memory of H+C is as follows. Supposedly live show on BBC. The Primevals did their 3 songs straight through. Del Amitri asked to repeat one of their 3 that they weren't happy with. H+C forced us to applaud enthusiastically for numerous ( seven rings a bell ) takes. The phrase ' get over yourself ' wasn't de rigeur at the time. Pity. Laborious. NINE episodes of this ( so far ). I rest my case.

The live chats on Music Club were fab. I met some lifelong friends because of you two lads....eternally grateful for that alone.
