    i used M10 for 2 months and I found the little notchiness at low speed and fast counter steering bothered me. I upgraded to VRS last week and it was very nice. Want to see the comparison between VRS and Alpha.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used the simplicity sw20 recently for review (not yet released) and that’s the same motor as the VRS. However I’m not in a position to comment on the VRs. The sw20 has more power for sure and it’s great when set up. I just miss a good quick release and base rim selection. The Simagic rims are exceptionally good.

    Nice video Laurence, appreciate the direct comparisons between the two as I'm literally having this debate inside my head...
    I'll be upgrading from a Fanatec CSW v1 with Formula Black Rim and already have the Leo Bodnar USB converter for the Fanatec rim, worked out much cheaper to do this than buy a new base with a new rim, although I do like the look of that GT4 rim... decisions, decisions...

    Vrs(20nm) is probably the best value for the buck, about the same price then the m10 maybe a bit more but 10x better. Simagic is been out in China for a while and just making its way to the states. No rush to buy neither.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the VRS looks to be a great option. I had the simplicity sw20 in for review recently and it’s the same motor as the VRS. It’s definitely a far better ffb motor than the m10 but not that much better than the alpha. I enjoyed it a lot, but Simagic’s QR and rims really do win a lot of points for me

  • @frankd.b.9233

    It does look better than the previous version, I think the 10 NM is a bit weak, i like the Simucube 2 Ultimate its got Super Fine tuning filters, But it is very expensive

      @timl9870 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with you, however Simagic comes in bundles and Simucube does not. They're both excellent, but better value for Simagic, for sure.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's definitely a good option for people. However, it lacks the steering wheel selection as part of the bundle. It's still a couple of hundred euro more expensive with a comparable rim, too.

    Great review! Love the checklist & scores, this is what everyone needs. Btw, after 6 months of alpha software updates and M10 now being “discountinued”, do you think converting from M10 to alpha will make sense? TIA!

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think anyone needs to upgrade from the m10 to the alpha mini, but the upgrade to the alpha is incredible. I recommend it if you have the money and can get a decent price when selling your m10.

    • @anthonymunoz4574
      @anthonymunoz4574 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yes, not for an alpha mini, since it has the same nm i think it will underwhelm M10 due to the motor difference. Thanks for the reply, that’s the response i was hoping you to say haha! Cheers!

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I can definitely see the logic and you’ll be very happy with the sc2 pro. From a pure force feedback point of view it is superior to the alpha. Which wheel rim did you go for?

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

      Yep. I was very surprised too. I bought it at the time because I thought it was a decent entry to DD. But then quickly realised I didn’t actually want or need more from my hardware. The only reason I have owned and used other hardware since then is because of the channel :)

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      between the alpha mini and the m10, buy the alpha mini. There's no way they would replace the m10 with a product which isn't AT LEAST as good.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes :) it’s a great wheelbase, albeit industrial and a bit clunky to install and set up. Once installed, ffb is great but lack of a QR and rim eco system really hurt it. I can’t see anyone who buys one being disappointed, provided they never need to contact customer service :p

    What a dilemma. Wanted easy setup and plug and play. Don't want to fiddle with game settings and ini files. M10 is superb value with round rim. VRS DFP does not support all games (WRC 9) etc. I am assuming SC2 Sport is direct plug and play, supported by most games and better ownership experience and good software. For someone playing rally games mostly wireless wheel doesn't matter at all, any entry level wheel like momo or OMP will work. With those in mind it's a big confusion between SC2 Sport and M10, spend more and get established wheel??

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have experience with the SC2 sport. The M10 needs a small file dropped into a folder to support Dirt2.0 but i'm not sure about WRC9. I don't think that there's such a thing as 'more established' now. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more Simagic wheels in the world than cube controls or Ascher wheels now.
      From my own rally experience, the simagic GT1-R rim is amazing because there's a handy button plate, and you can easily swap out the rim for something else if you want.

      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to order through the Facebook owner group I’m pretty sure. It’s a great h pattern but the sequential is not very good at all. It’s functional, but no more immersive than a modded Logitech shifter. H pattern is very good though.

  • @gachiyuri
    @gachiyuri 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Would you say that the Alpha is a worthwhile upgrade over the M10 if I only play rally games? My impression from others is that the force feedback in the games I play isn't particularly detailed anyway so I wasn't sure if I should pull the trigger on an Alpha or VRS over an M10.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I prefer the alpha. The ffb from the vrs is ‘better’ in general though. The alpha is just very easy to live with and the rims are beautiful. The wireless technology of the wheels is amazing too.

    "wireless" isnt it still plugged into the base similar to fanatec wheels?

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, it used a 2.4ghz protocol for communication. It does have pins which don’t plug in, they simply touch a contact plate and that transfers the power. As soon as it’s powered up, the wheelbase and wheel find one another and it’s ready to go.
      The fanatec pins are weak and horrible to use by comparison. Fanatec’s system is not a true quick release system. I did a full video on the Simagic QR system if you’re interested: th-cam.com/video/FVooJVZyI8E/w-d-xo.html
