Your a legend big man. My misses forgot about the lever in boot and opened the roof and and a cable is jammed in the thing that moves up and down to allow boot space.
This helped tremendously and I was able to close the top which was slightly open and would not close. Only took 2 minutes. Thanks for this video, it was spot on!

You can use your car key to open the fuse box cover. It's a ski compartment, not gold club 😂 thank you for making this video to help people. I found out a few years ago but it's really helpful.
You may be 3500 miles away but you just saved my life. My wife would have killed me if she'd found out I'd got the roof of her beloved A4 stuck. Thanks my friend.

Our mechanic fixed it and it was expensive---then after not a lot of use it happened again. Do you think the problem is solenoid or something to be fixed electronically? I'm a mechanical no show and living in Canada we park the Audi over the weekend. Hope things are good with you. David C
I wish I could've pinpointed the actual fix, but I sold the car before isolating the problem. I figured a how to open and close manually video would be way more useful because too many people were getting stuck in critical weather situations. Sorry I couldn't offer much help fixing the problem.

Big thanks for this video.....somehow this video got me to get the locking system on roof working in one go earlier saw otger videos but still couldn't get the locking system to work....now I can close the roof fully......Will try the open close cycle to get rid of the alarm

I really can't answer that honestly because I haven't worked on the 2007. I've suggested trying the same technique on your vehicle. In the past, we've found that Audi incorporates similar builds that the process worked on.

I don't know if it can help, but if it's not moving it's possible that the battery is no good enough for it. Turn on the engine and press the gas pedal whilst holding the button up/down. With the ignition power it should work. It worked for me.
Good info. I tried it with the engine running, but not while giving it a high rev. Anything is worth a try. Thanks for the info. I never take the top down so I never gave a concern passed doing the video... The funny thing is, I own 5 convertible cars and never drop the top on four of them... The fifth car never had a top, so I don't have the Liberty of keeping the top up. LoL

Motor Replacement is $1400. It's a Dealer Part Only! Hydraulic Reservoir is usually the culprit, it gets low on fluid which makes the Top inoperable from going up or down? I learned the hard way allowing the dealer to trouble shoot the system and they still screwed it up? Dealer changed the Motor and it still wouldn't go up or down! All it was was 8 ounces of Hydraulic Fluid!
Thank you for this info. Did the roof work after filling it up with oil ? If so, where can I find the reservoir to check the level, and which type of hydraulic oil do I purchase ? Wow. The dealer charged $1,400 and it still didn't work.... maybe the dealer needed 8 ounces of fluid for them to work right..... rip-offs.
Eurozone sells the Hydraulic Fluid for European Auto's $14.95@Quart Sized Can a d it is located forward of the motor .. right side kick panel in the trunk. Hydraulic reservoir bolts onto the motor housing and there is a mark on the reservoir where to fill it up to! I found this out the hard way ... dealer does not Service this unit at all. Their maintenance manual says to replace the motor both about the reservoir fluid? $1400. vs $14.00 go figure? Hope this helps!
