someone else already mentioned this but @ 5:55 your panning trick doesn't really work since completely identical signals from both left and right would cancel each other out. you would need a bit of delay between the two or have them be separate takes so that they're not completely identical. this makes you achieve that stereo spread effect

5:54 I’m not sure if that is what you’re going for, but I usually use a mono sample delay on the track, and put the left (or right) delay to about 700. That makes is so it sounds like it’s coming from both ears. Not sure if you already knew that but I’ll share it nonetheless :)
