Thank you so much for your kind words! To me, music is about feelings and not so much about ''showing off'' or promote yourself. I am glad it can be heard in my playing. All the best, Per-Olov
I've been looking for a really good version of this music. I've looked at countless videos, listened to a few seconds or so, then stopped and kept on searching. Then i came across this... i listened to the whole piece, and thought"wow", thats the one i've been looking for.
I just taught my daughter how to play this on the piano this weekend...now, I need to learn the guitar so I can play Bach there as well....just beautiful...thank you!!
It's like I'm carrying a great weight kept for a long time in my heart, full of sorrows, sadness and frustrations ... that can only come out in the tears that I shed when I'm crying listening to this beautiful melody and the feeling of this man touching it... Thank you, it's really necessary for the soul
for some reason this almost brings a tear to my eye and I don't know why. It gets slightly happy toward in the middle but then brings the sadness back. Feels like the person who wrote it was telling a story about losing a loved one, remembering the happy times and then yearning for them. Well played, sir.
Hi Vic, I agree. Amazing man. And thinking he was most known in his time for his improvisations!! NOT his compositions... How weird and sad isn't that? Can you imagine what we missed!! Sigh... I have to meet him in Heaven to ask him to play for me... :-) Saludos, Per
This is brilliant... if I closed my eyes i could even feel the crescendos and decrescendo like I was listening to the great man himself. Really well played👏🏼👏🏼
Per, your love for Bach is obvious, pervasive and contagious. I particularly like this piece and thoroughly enjoyed your thoughtful interpretation. Thank you so much. Your friend in Bach, - Athan
This is one of my favorite youtube version of this piece. Not romanticized, letting Bach's hidden melodies and musical structure show themselves. I look forward to more of your work.
Welcome back, Maestro. I started practicing the Christopher Parkening arrangement of this about 30 years ago. I was almost ready to post a video of it, but now you've spared me the embarrassment. Thank you. I can move on to something easier. This is one of my favourite Bach pieces to play poorly on the guitar. Great way to start the new year.
Thank you for this. The difficult chords are played in much easier positions than I've seen elsewhere and starting some arpegios on the fifth string is also new to me and appreciated!
Hola Carlos, Muchas gracias. Yes, it is available as sheet music and TAbs from my web shop. Please look for the link under the video. I hope you will order it and have fun playing it. Salu2 desde Dinamarca. Per-Olov
I just put this to my personal favorits!! This is so beautiful!! I always loved this piece, and when I listen how you play this, it realy gives me ghoospimpels!! Thank you so much for playing for us!!
Thank you for sharing this fantastic piece of music :) I was actuallly looking for this one a long time, but I couldn't remember the name. Beautifully played with the same amazing use of dynamics and emotions as always :) All the best, Robert
Hello Per, Because of people like you, classical music is accepted. I'm was astonished for the full 2.31 minute. You know I'm a great fan of yours. Good to have you back after six weeks. I hope you've used this time to do all kinds of great things to fill up your battery. Hope to hear so much more from you. Greetingzzz Rob
Amazing! I tried to play this in my guitar and I managed to play the first couple of measures, but then the hand position started to get all weird and I could not play the notes anymore. Somehow you managed to play it. Again, amazing achievement! Respect!
Dear Per-Olov! Wonderful Interpretation and arrangement of this well-known piece. Fantastic sound and guitar playing! I like it very much. All thumbs up and have a great weekend! Yours Karlheinz:)
Fantastic, Bach was such a Master in Harmony, couldn't help analyzing what I was hearing in ,such rich patterns. This man was far ahead of his time. All those beautiful chord inversions, diminished sounds, as a Jazz musician one can not but love this rich food for thought, I'll be back to analyze in depth. I see one dis-like here, sorry to say probably a deaf or total A-musical individual, great Per,Vic.
Hi Julian. I have to say this is not so easy on the guitar. I wish I had 10 strings in this! Your comment about not much room for manoeuvre is spot on! Per-Olov
Hey dear Peo, good to have you back my friend... I missed you and your so well played music!!! The Well- Tempered Clavier is a so nice composition wherever you play it on piano or guitar or whatever!!! Of course wonderful playing perfect for a sunday evening!! I am looking forward to much more videos this year ;-) A big hug and kiss Sarah :-)
Perfect Timing: Sunday evening, and by now every living Soul in my house is sleeping. A glass of red wine... and Per.Olov playing Bach as it is supposed to be played. Maybe there is A God, after all? We sure missed ya! Pascal.
Amazing. As a piano player I didn't know that was even possible on guitar! Hmm... six notes in each chord, six strings, so I suppose it is possible, but not much room for manoeuvre! Skilful playing indeed! Thank you for sharing.
When i want to listen to Bach, i always pay your video's a visit :) their are always a calm controlled beautiful style to your playing, that' just makes me relax and enjoy it -
Sigh...Per-Olov does Bach. Good for your soul, anytime! You always have this rich, sonorous and dynamic tone that puts you up there with the all the other greats of guitar; for that I give thanks to you. I especially get excited when I see that you have a new Bach piece put up; I would love to see you interpret (and transcribe) Bach's Siciliano from BWV 1031. I think that'd be awesome! By the way, two months ago I purchased BWV 999 and the Albinoni adagio from your site. They are great fun!
I am glad my education is only in 'the soul of music' rather than being overly technical. This piece of music is beautiful, but the arrangement I think is wonderful and is a clear proof that you are caressing the guitar to bring out all it's qualities, tonally exciting. I am a fan of music both written for the guitar and that which was never intended for the guitar. Admiration for both, but in particular to the interpretation. You are at one with your instrument. Great technical recording too.
Thank you so much for your kind words! To me, music is about feelings and not so much about ''showing off'' or promote yourself. I am glad it can be heard in my playing.
All the best,
Per-Olov
Can we just appreciate the fact this man still hearts and responds 6o comments 11 years later?
I've been looking for a really good version of this music. I've looked at countless videos, listened to a few seconds or so, then stopped and kept on searching. Then i came across this... i listened to the whole piece, and thought"wow", thats the one i've been looking for.
Dear Sandy,
Thank you. I a happy to hear that. I love Bach and every time I play him, I hear new things and melodies.

I just taught my daughter how to play this on the piano this weekend...now, I need to learn the guitar so I can play Bach there as well....just beautiful...thank you!!
:-) Thank you my friend. Great to be playing for you again.
Per-Olov
The mellow and calm tone of the classical guitar relaxes me.
Dear Tim! Thank you! Even if this is done with some sore fingers. I haven't played for 5-6 weeks. Good to be playing again.

Wonderful. This should be a part of every guitar player's repertoire no matter what kind of music you play.

Elegant and beautiful .. When one understand and enjoy the ability to play such an amazing composition, they enjoy the true sense of being alive .

I've been learning to play this recently! You've done a wonderful interpretation- I think I may have to practice now. Thanks for the inspiration. :D
Bach will love you
Hi my friend. Thank you. I am happy you are playing classic too. It is Cavatina... :-)
Good luck and keep playing.

Ein Tolles Arrangement, Per-Olav! I've been working on it with the dropped D, but reconsidering after hearing your beautiful work.
Absolutely gorgeous
