      I have made a few of the Emma flutter sleeve top from Tianas closet. It's an easy and quick pattern.

    Thanks for sharing all of your lovely makes for the challenge, such a shame about the Salome dress, especially when you'd added the embroidery - hope you can get it to fit! Looking forward to seeing your Isla top - I've seen some lovely versions. Thanks for joining the challeng Vox 🤗

      Hello Cynthia!
      Thank you a lot for watching! 😊
      I loved your pattern picks as well!
      I also need to try the Friday pattern Bateau Top! Then I can wear it with the sport shorts and have a full Friday pattern outfit haha don't know why but it seems like a good idea.

      I've made the Friday Pattern Co Sports shorts twice, and I love them too. They would be perfect together.

    Love the Friday Pattern shorts. I can’t believe I’ve missed this pattern. I’ve never heard of Tiana’s Closet and didn’t realize that Fabric Store had patterns. I’ll definitely be checking those out soon. Thanks for sharing your makes.

    Have you encountered any patterns that fit you very well without any adjustments?

    • @VoxAtelier
      @VoxAtelier  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello! 👋😊
      From these free patterns only the ones from Fabric Store did not work for me since they would require a lot of alterations and rework.
      All the other's fit as intended.
      Apart from the ones mentioned in this video, the patterns that fit me the best are the ones from Vikisews because I can buy the patterns for my height.
      I am only 160cm or 5'2''.
      The only alteration I make to vikisews patterns is to add 1cm to the waist because I am in between sizes.
      My favorite pattern is the Sharon dress.

    This video is so useful! I've just finished making the Savannah Shacket - it's my second try at a Mood patter and it'll be my last. The line drawing is massively different, the instructions are crap and then there are a few mistakes in the patterns themselves (like no note to cut a peice on a fold but it should be). It was better than the top of theirs I tried making but still not great

    • @VoxAtelier
      @VoxAtelier  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much!
      I totally understand your frustration. Mood fabrics releases a lot of free sewing patterns but in my opinion they made no effort to improve the quality.
      I understand that they are free and some people are able to make them work and that's great but personally...I start by looking for free patterns elsewhere.

    Thanks so much for the petite pattern info. I’m just learning how most patterns are really off for me, especially in the torso length and dart placement.
    I’m off to check out Viki Sews patterns!

      Hi 👋
      I am very glad it was helpful!
      It is so disheartening to put hours into a project and then have fit issues.
      I also still learning about how to make patterns fit me better 😊
      Yes! I do recommend trying one of the vikisews patterns in your height if you find one that you like.
      They run sales very often on their website also so I recommend keeping an eye out for a good deal 😊

    I had the same problem with the fabric store free pattern I tried. I cut the smallest size and took so much off the length before i started my mock up, but it's just so large I haven't bothered to finish it yet.

      That is exactly how I felt about Luna and again about this one. I was expecting a certain look and it seems so far from the goal that I almost don't feel like finishing it :/

    Vox, how do you find what size patterns are drafted for?

    • @VoxAtelier
      @VoxAtelier  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sometimes the pattern designer will mention what height or size block they are drafting for. If they do not, the best is to ask them.
      But I believe that the average height that most designers draft for is around (1.7m) 5.6.
      I am 5.2 (1.6m) and for this reason almost any pattern that is not draftet for petite's will have fit issues on me.
      SchultzApparel for example mentions in all her patterns that they are drafted for a body height
      of 168 +/- 4 cm ( this is +- 5.5 foot). And she also adds lengthen and shorten lines to allow the sewist to adjust the bodice.

      @ZeldaSews 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@VoxAtelier Thank you so much for that information! I'm going to pay more attention when I pick up patterns.
