  • The Saramonic UwMic 9 system, a worthy contender to the existing industry dominators of wireless audio?
Note: Also has optional add-ons for a handset microphone transmitter (HU9), and a plug-on XLR transmitter (TX-XLR9).
Saramonic also manufactures a Stereo 3.5mm to Dual XLR splitter, which can be purchased from their local distributors.

Out of all the Saramonic UWmic9 reviews on TH-cam, yours is the best sounding and cleanest, very low noise. I believe you said you were recording to a Zoom H6. I would love to hear it plugged in straight to camera. Thanks, good job.

Juan Diego Gutierrez did you ever buy the system because I have enough plugged in directly into my camera and I'm getting a lot of white noise in the background even when it's perfectly quiet what did you get

Preamps are very important for audio quality. Chances are, the Saramonics & Zoom created very clean, almost line level audio for the camera to receive. By using the cameras built-in preamp for gain introduction, rather than a Zoom for example, you down grade your signal path and could introduce unwanted noise.

ANOTHER great review by ZY Productions! I think what I like about this wireless system is the ability to buy a single transmitter now and a second down the road to add on when I'm ready. Translation...it's a flexible system to expand, if needed. Oh, and the savings over the Sennheiser G3 is enough to kick in a few dollars for his advice via Patreon (hint, hint).

I recently purchased these. They sounded great when I tested them but something went wrong when I hooked up the talent. His audio kept going in and out and on playback it sounded like robots underwater. I scanned and rescanned. I tried both transmitters, both mics, I swapped the mic/transmitters. I tried different batteries, different headphones. I even grabbed an old mic to try. Nothing worked. I’m truly at a loss and we have a reshoot in three days.

Thanks for such a clear and informative review, one of the best I've seen so thank you! Quick question, if you're looking to use this wireless system with the two transmitters and require an XLR input into a recorder what would be your workaround? I'm thinking of using this system with a Panasonic GH5 and the XLR adapter unit (for the improved quality of the pre-amps over plugging straight into camera via a 3.5mm). Would it be a case of getting an adapter to split the 3.5mm line out into two xlr plugs? Hope that makes sense! Thank you again.

Have you tested these microphones at the bus or subway station? I have a SARAMONIC RX15 Receiver and SR-HM15 Transmitter Microphone. If you use the in the open without much movement of people or interference, that's ok. Sound worthy. I did the test on the highway bus station recording directly on dslr camera. It was giving many cuts in frequency. I changed batteries, changed channels and nothing! My audio in editing got peaks of failure. I missed part of the interview.

The volume on the received does not see to affect anything. Can you please tell me. I watch this video 5 more times and I'm still not sure what that Sarmonic Receiver volume controls. I have my gh5 down to -8 and it's still a little over powering. Thanks for you videos they are the best and so well done.

Just got the Saramonic UwMic 10 that you did a review on. Did you have any excessive white noise? I did a personal comparison with my Sennheiser G2&G3. The G2&G3 were extremely quiet (as you know), essentially no white noise.
I have tried different frequencies with the Saramonic and volume settings yet still have annoying white noise.
I am using FCPX and recording with the Canon XA20.
Any suggestions- please! Otherwise I plan on purchasing another Sennheiser set. Your channel is great and very informative.

    • @WorldsOddestMan
      @WorldsOddestMan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

In regards to the noise you are getting when recording to camera, I think it is a camera setting that you need to tweak. If you can reduce the dB level on the camera's sound settings and increase the level on the saramonic receiver, there should theoretically be less noise when recording. Cameras usually have rudimentary sound recording capability when compared to a sound recorder. However if you reduce the level on the camera and increase on the mic, you'll have a better chance of reducing noise. In regards to the camera not recording any sound, I think it is again a camera setting you'll need to change. I'm not familiar with that camera but some cameras need you to manually change microphone recording source from internal to external even after you have plugged the mic in.

I must be doing something wrong. I have the same kit but I did buy single receiver then later found another one for under a $100. Now I've used these on 3 weddings. Here are couple issues. One at times it's cute out now for one of the weddings I can see why my camera was about 70-85 feet away and it usually happen when people where standing. Now I've had happen when I was only about 10 feet away and no interference. let's talk noise. I see you had it going into recording device instead of directly into the camera I found if going right into the camera and say a fan is going even a ceiling fan high up you get noise, but if you use a tascam the cuts the noise out. So best bet is to have unit going into Tascam but also out into the camera. You then have two audios to choose from.

There is no dual mono balanced output on the receiver, and they have no receiver with that available. That instantly disqualifies it for me.

Great video! Finally got that set today but I can only get "A" TX to work. I set up "B" the exact same way but I'm not getting a signal to the RX. Tried the "B" lav mic on "A" TX and it works fine. Does anyone have any ideas? Help is appreciated :)
