You can change the city's name without causing any problem with the lore video: It was originally PixelPulse City, but after it was abandoned, the new people who started coming in began calling it DoublePulse, because it was the city's "second life."

You should totally get the "Please Hold" song to play in the elevator shaft! I think it would be a fun bit of atmosphere to add while everyone is waiting to go up the elevator. Plus, that song is so good!
Impulse, a cool idea could be that the bunker has a Faraday Cage around the perimeter. It would allow the bunker to still have functioning electronics because it disperses EMP’s. It makes sense lore-wise and most doomsday bunkers have one. Also it helps get rid of inconsistencies about the elevator and the EMP. Hope this helps. :)

Hearing how Impulse plays Wordle set my head spinning. If I tried to walk away and 'percolate' on it, I'd forget what the dang word is.
I have a hard enough time remembering what I'm doing while I'm doing it.
And I'm not good at spelling.
For those of us with failure-avoidance issues, wordle is sort of overwhelming. "Failure" is a component of the process but each guess can feel very heavy, which can encourage procrastination in the right person.
@@itmeurdad That makes sense! Interesting to hear different strategies and why they might manifest.
Personally, I might walk away just to reset my mind. Its less percolation and more procrastination, but it kind of achieves the same goal of letting my head get unstuck from my previous guess and make me more creative with my next one.
The dark tunnel has such a eerie vibe. It would add to the dystopian feel, and the feeling of time passing, if you add some more broken parts to the tunnel. Like flickering eerie lights. A pipe thats broken and creating some electrical bugs, a panel beeing broken. When the city people fled in fear they could have damaged things while trying to escape as fast as possible. It would make it feel even more eerie.
Impulse, as an idea for one of the minigames in the city you could have a ventilation system as a maze, and use pistons on a clock to randomly close parts of the system off. It could be a challenge where you cant actually memorize and exact route because it changes, similar to the subway station race.
I love how you can see the dome from the outside, but it cleanly blends into the rest of the mountain! Incredible job as always, Impulse.

Now that we know the mountain will be a volcano, having those magma blocks under the tunnel grates makes sense. Could be used for heating in the bunker, too.

Terraform the entirety of it. Convert it from cherry, perhaps, or make the cherry forest more sparse considering the volcano.

"Double Pulse" also sounds like an allusion to Double Life, where you and Bdubs were teamed. I like it :)
I'm starting to get a picture if the lore for the whole area.
The people of that area reached cyberpunk levels of technology and the whole AI apocalypse happened, which you could even blame on Skizz's pyramid since the whole reason for it is to display the growth of intelligent species, starting from survival to reach generosity and self assurance. The pyramid is right next to Gem's area which is full of spookiness which is next to Grian who is literally a hermit this season. Grian is right next to Scar who, in his lore, arrived at that location via portals that blend tech and magic, ArcanePunk basically. Putting your zoo of mobs and animals in a magic rich area makes sense. It's obviously magic enough to create large sentient snails which are good money launderers. Which brings me to Mumbo's rural town which is right next to the defunked cyber city. Mumbo says something strange is going on... Fitting.
And then we get into the outter magic mountaineers. Tango and Pearl went Solar and Steampunk which one could easily say, those who didn't retreat to the bunker fled and sought alternative power sources. Cub and Etho are hard to nail down, but Cub could be doing some kind of industrialpunk with a splash of magic? Idk about etho. Off grid, maybe?
And then we get to the magic mountain volcano and Joel. Joel's area kinda is the rich neighborhood that had enough precautions to not get destroyed in the AI Apocalypse and they turned to Geothermal power to keep their lights on which is what the people of the bunker could use.
Those in the Neighborhood are practically their own kingdom/nation with their own problems.
I like that.
I feel like Etho's base is kind of like that one old farmer who doesn't keep up with the news and doesn't even realize that his neighbors have had a minor apocalypse.

The fun thing about following Impulse’s work is how he’ll absolutely throw himself into something new-and this time it’s environmental storytelling! Can’t wait to see what’s next for Doublepulse City

Love the subtlety of the bunker on the outside and always love your chill Timelapse’s for redstone
I know you read the comments so don’t take this personally. (It’s just an opinion). That’s a LOT of crying obsidian in that elevator shaft. It’s really busy. They’re a light block+ you’ve got frog lights in the sides. You went from a creepy dark escape tunnel to an incredibly bright and busy elevator shaft. There are other immovable blocks. Perhaps cauldrons stacked with lights behind. You’d get the little hole between the legs that would look like a little rectangular light (not all lights could work. You could put a colored block in some places so it looks like they’re burnt out), or the back sides of furnaces. The chains with the grindstones and the air ducts with the blast furnaces look super good (and functional), but I think it clashes with the bright busy purple. Part looks industrial and the rest looks…alien? It’s like dark and grey down the tunnel, then Grey and bright purple! Crying obsidian is a pretty block but I think it should be used as an accent and not a wall. The veins kind of look like circuitry so it’s a good choice in that aspect.
If the hallway is too same-y you could add doors to section it off. Like an airlock or blast doors. The tunnel is great as is so that’s more of an idea than an opinion.
I rarely will comment that I’m not a fan of something because comments in these videos can be downright mean sometimes, and it’s just my personal opinion. Thousands of people might disagree with me so take it for what you will.
All that said you’ve improved so much as a builder and a creator. I hope you are as proud of yourself as we are for you.
I completely disagree. I absolutely love the bright elevator, especially the crying obsidian. But as you said, that's just my opinion.
The problem with biodomes is that wood needs wind to be strong. If a tree doesn't have to resist wind pressure, it will fall with very little pressure. You should make fallen trees to show biosphere collapse.
hey impulse, my base is a spiral tower made of obsidian and crying obsidian which adds texture to it. I bet your elevator shaft would look soo much better if you texture it with obsidian. you could also add some chains to give the elevator some "structural support" and maybe add some stuff with the chains like walls and stuff to detail. hope this helps :)

I love the erosion exposing the secret bunker, and the dedication to the city’s lore. Bdubs getting a nod in the name too is a must, I agree. That’s also the first ‘realistic’ elevator I’ve seen in Minecraft, I think - looks great!

Saw the double pulse suggestion last video and loved it, very fitting thematically and also incorporates the creators.
Imagine if the elevator assembled itself at the bottom and disassembled itself at the top. So multiple platforms could be running at the same time. The bits from the top would feed the assembly at the bottom
I wish Impulse had been part of the server tour. I feel like the other Hermits so would have loved the lore behind his city but also appreciated all the work that’s gone into detailing it
You should join the under bedrock network by lowering a path of pigs hanging under the bedrock by jumping from one to the next
You know, the lore of your city dovetails really nicely with what False has going on-her build is centered around a group settling in an abandoned, ruined settlement. I wonder if they could be refugees from Pulse City...
Absolutely love the idea of a bio bunker ! Maybe you could make a giant tree at the center of it and teraces around on many levels with of the different sections needed to survive in case of an apocalypse 😁
Geothermal power with steam and water would be really cool for the bunker and fit in with the magic mountain as a volcano thing too.

Nice on the Wordle! I play all the time too, I'm happy if I get it on the 4th guess. I also do the multi ones, like the Quordle and Octordle and Sedecordle. It helps get my brain going after I wake up, it's just like a nice little consistent routine thing that helps to anchor me a little bit. Pearl is popping off with her redstone learning, I'm sure she appreciated your feedback!
No idea on the plans for the bunker but it needs living quarters for Staff and citizens as well as a way to learn for any potential children. Also It could be cool if a giant cherry tree was growing out of part of it.
I love impulse picking up mannerisms from other hermits.

Loved everything about this episode!! Pearl's wordl is super cool, and I LOVE how the bunker turned out, peeking out of the mountain like that 🤩 Excited to see you and Joel terraform around it! And I'm a sucker for biospheres, can't wait to see what you cook up for that
My vote goes towards Double Pulse City! Pixel Pulse is nice with the alliteration and all, but Double Pulse sounds more cyberpunk to me for some reason. :D
What might be neat is if the bunker has been breached and so there's vegetation growing out from the biodome and onto the surrounding mountain.
Double-Pulse is a double entendre. it's a combo of your names, but you could also look at it as 2 pulses because it's yours and bdubs heartbeats.
Definitely not an eye sore! It looks amazing with how it’s unearthed from the mountain.
Since everyone ELSE seems to love using Bop-n-Go, you should make a few more scattered around the server in strategic locations to be loaded most of the time while people are online messing around at their bases. Then have a "Tip Greatly Appreciated" jar nearby so people can pay like 1 diamond for 30+ levels.
You know from previous seasons that Papa K loves to put gas stations around the server, or car washes, or etc etc and homie made some serious bank off those little builds over multiple seasons... you should totally jump on that opportunity as soon as you can before Papa K gets the idea again. Also using the "Tips" idea you can skate around the "Permit Office" as you arent "selling" anything but rather simply providing a service for the community that costs nothing but a thank you or whatever the recipients deem.
For calling the elevator, you should see if those amethyst skulk transponders would work. It would really save some time.
The one thing I know about rocks is that circular/ovular stones containing fossils are typically found in between pieces of shale, a type of rock and I thought your secret base looked a lot like one
Doublepulse Valley is the best name for this cyberpunk city.
I could definitely stan DoublePulse being the name of the city. As others have pointed out; it makes for a cool sort of 'rebirth' name for things turning back around, and the people looking ahead to make sure there's no need for another Max.
I believe Twinpulse Valley would work a little better as a combined name.

I know I'm far behind in the series right now, but if you haven't yet, you should add a note block on the elevator with the closest thing to elevator music you can find on it.

The tunnel lighting would be super cool if you made it so when you drop down the copper bulbs turn on sequentially all the way down the tunnel. Or they could turn on/off and follow you as you walk down the tunnel with light where you’re walking but darkness in front of and behind you

When you're terraforming the mountain around the bunker, you could add some little bits and bobs like a little ventilation shaft or a sneaky antenna, I think that would sell it and look really cool hidden among the foliage

Impulse I want to commend you on trying to make the builds in your city feel alive. I feel like that is something I only really see from the likes of Scar and Bdubs and not only are you now a great redstoner but also a great builder. You are a great student of those around you and I don’t think it is said enough how far you come when it comes to building things that really immerse us as viewers. Well done!

I love how excited all the redstone guys are of Pearl's Wordle game, it's adorable, also the darker spot on her nose (I think it's meant to be sunburned) makes it look like she's blushing when they compliment her, which is super cute

There's 4 big ones like sunflower, and rose bush. 4 tulips, 5 you can find in a open field, 1 at the swamp, 1 in the flower valley, 1 the wither drops, and 2 that the sniffer digs up. 4+4+5+1+1+1+2=18 flowers unless I forgetting some
There is also the spore blossom, which pearl will sell in the same shop.
I think the entrance of the bunker shouldn’t be a reception area but more of a decontamination area you can build some cool mechanics for that
You don't have to stand on the piston in MPHQ, Ishkall has it there as a display for the Mission Book when it drops.
The funny thing is, "I before E" actually happens _less_ frequently in English than "E before I", so really it's just "you have to remember which way this word is spelled" every time.

I never really got into the YouTooz or Funkos or any of that, but then last year I got one from the channel Dead Meat, then pre ordered the Matpat one earlier this year, and then I won a Keralis one in the charity auction this year, and now I think they got me because now I do want to collect them, at least gotta get the Hermits 😆

COuld have used glazed terecotta, or the side of furnaces or other job blocks. Could have used stained glass with lit murals behind it. Could have used leaves. There are SOOO many things you could have done besides use crying obsidian.

You know the fog effect you can do with glass, you could do an upside down one in the bunker roof as an artificial sky
I think Pixel Pulse valley could be what it's called before the robot uprising and now its Double Pulse valley after the central AI was defeated
Right now it looks like a sphere built into the side of the mountain and over time the mountain eroded overtop of the side.

I feel like the bunker also needs a staircase/tunnel entrance. Like an original way that the creators of the bunker got up there before the elevator was made that also acts as an emergency exit that people can use if the elevator malfunctions.
I just realized that there’s a vibrant pink happy face on Impulse’s fist and I will never I see it now. 10/10

1:25 Why not use pistons swap between fully oxidised copper bulbs and regular copper bulbs instead of flickering them. Also ‘Doublepulse Valley’ is fantastic name choice.
Double pulse was what i was thinking! It works with cyberpunk, and your name and bdubs name. You could even have a logo, black with neon yellow "double bips: (like a heartbeat monitor)

Since your making a biodome you should put a few Easter eggs in reference to the movie Bio-Dome. You and Bdubs could be Bud and Doyle 😂 I don't know how many in your audience would be old enough to have seen the movie since it came out in '96 but I was teenager at that time and thought it was hilarious😂😂 also loving your builds this season, such a cool idea and design, looking forward to seeing all of it come together.
I feel like the bunker exterior misses some rusty spots, exposed iron bars, cracked/mossy walls in some places... while for the interiors I really hope to get Fallout Vaults vibe =D
