Some corrections to some of the information on this video. Clifton Mill which is featured in this video is not located in Yellow Springs. It is in a separate town called Clifton, Ohio which is approximately 5 miles to the east of Yellow Springs. The Clifton mill is located along the edge of Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve. The mill serves the most amazing pancakes which are made from the flour that is ground at the mill. It is the worth the long trek through the Glen and John Bryan to be rewarded with pancakes the size of a frisbee! Next, the Glen is not a state park. The state park is John Bryan which is adjacent to the Glen Helen Nature preserve. All three properties are connected by trails that run continuously from the Glen to Clifton Gorge. Each is managed by a different entity. The Glen is privately owned and the Department of Natural Resources manages the State Park and the preserve under it's different divisions. With regards to wading and swimming in the falls at the Glen. Unless I am mistaken that is not permitted. Having worked at the Glen as a naturalist, swimming was off limits in the preserve. As a side note, the Cascades are fed by a stream that passes through the run off from Youngs dairy which is north of the Glen and we were always warned of possible fecal contamination in the stream as a result of that. The Glen has gone through some tremendous changes recently with regards to ownership and administration. If you have the opportunity to visit Yellow Springs I highly recommend it. It is a beautiful area and a fun town to hang out in. I recommend a visit to the Glen Helen Raptor Center where you can view birds of prey that are being rehabilitated due to injuries. You will find on a normal day nearly every bird of prey that is native to the state. The Raptor Center accepts donations for the care and feeding of the birds and is in my opinion one of the crown jewels of wildlife rehab in the country. I enjoyed the video as it brought back some fond memories of my time working at the Glen. I hope to see more!

So - how is it to live in Yellow Springs? Is it easy to reach a big city? Are outsiders somehow welcomed? What about english speaking foreigners? I always dream of moving there. But I am kind of scared.
You'd certainly be welcome here. It's still a very small town feel and still has its own local grocery store, newspaper, banks, library, hardware store, bookstore, health food store, post office - along with all the shops, bars and restaurants that are more geared towards visitors (tho locals go there too, obviously). It's very self sufficient, you can get what you need usually within town. If you love nature and hiking, it's very near parks and preserves. If you have a car, it's an half hour to hour and half to Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus - we're kind of in the middle. No public transit from here to there tho. You'd have to pick that up from Springfield, 15 mins north of YS by car. It's majority liberal and consciously open and tolerant within most individuals and governmentally. We don't always live up to our diverse goals, but we do care and try. It's a very opinionated town, there's usually some cause or hulabaloo going on. lol But you can stay out of local politics and avoid that scene easily. And it can be expensive in housing here - cause so many people want to live here! And finite housing. I'd suggest doing what we did before moving here - subscribe to our local paper Yellow Springs News. Get a feel for the place. Look at housing ads. The News also offers a YS guide each year, ask for that, definitely. It has much more details about what amenities and resources we have. Don't be afraid! Give it a try if you want. You can always leave again. 😉 And it can be a fun chapter in your life either way.
@@rhyfeddu thank you for that amazing answer! It took a bit of fear away. I looked into the housing offers and I must admit it's pretty cheap to what I am used to! I am used to small towns , there is always a lot of stuff going on - even if it seems like your sleepy neighborhood. I will give this thought some time and seriously think about moving! Thanks again!

There was a famous head shop here I remember people talking about in high school

I see why Dave Chappelle opposed the affordable housing thing. I would too🤨
He was deceived by the company that was going to do that and that's why he backed out

Aka the land of the hippies
The hippies have been gone, except a few. It's a town of the woke. Very overpopulated with tourists & students that think they're hippies.
Are there hot girls in Yellow springs? I wanna move there from Detroit.

Where the women with the dirty feet Dave Chappelle talked about? “Chalk it up bitch”😂😂😂😭😭😭
