Ceara Abrahamsz I was going to point this out as well. A bigger meter is always better; red just means it's particularly low or high compared to the original starting point for the trait / relationship.
Red isn't maxxed out. Red means it has changed since you last looked at it. At 59:42, you can even watch it go down. And it went down due to Mike messing around with the gun, rather than starting the fire.

If you want extra insight on what's going on, be sure to read up on the clues you collected in the menu. It can provide extra info on each "mystery" in the game: The Mystery Man, The Twins and 1952. For example, the whole news article on the janitor was featured in the menu, but not upon discovery.
Btw what I gathered from that quiz thingy you found in Hannah's room, is that she specifically got a butterfly tattoo to impress Mike (because the article claimed that was the way to get the attention of the "hunk" you're crushing on).
Afraid of the Dark, now that was a thrilling tv show from back in the day!
This is such a cute game; that its a spoof of all those 80s slasher movies is often over looked. My only complaint is and has always been, there should have been a M for Mature option available; a game like this needs a little skin to be a true satire.

Funny you worded it like that. I remember when the game came out that the jump scares or tense situations never really bothered me. I guess the Prozac they had me on at the time really worked.
I have an anxiety disorder and I like watching let's plays of until dawn like I would a movie. I find it strangely calming 😂

I dont think people actually meant for you to turn off your lights and play in the dark. Although, it would definitely make for a better game experience, just as it would to watch a scary movie with the lights off. But it would be hard for us to see you if you played in the dark, and it would be irritating for you to play with the lights off while having separate light source shining in your face just to make yourself visible on camera. I mainly think you'd have more fun playing this at night rather than during the day otherwise it's just like watching scary movies during the day...it takes the fun out of it. But we could see you just fine when you turned your light off.
You're doing a great job exploring the game for clues. You clearly know to go in the opposite direction of characters that you're supposed to follow, etc. Dont forget to walk TOWARDS the camera if you want to explore for clues and totems. These camera angles are really bad and many people forget to walk towards the camera to find clues that may be hidden in these areas. But that's only if your interested in finding stuff.
The "DONT MOVE" thing refers to you not moving your controller. The blue light shown is the same light that is on the top of the PS4 controller. It's not something that you have to keep in the lines. You just have to hold the controller still during these motion-sensor "DONT MOVE" events.
You werent supposed to scare Jess. In fact, you're doing great with her. If you look again at your relationship status, you are maxed out with her. She loves you.

My cheese meter is on super high alert with that script. Yeesh! Guess maybe that's what they were going for though, since it feels like a horror movie and all. Seems like a fun thrill to try and play through though.

Emily quickly became one of the most loathed characters in video game history when this game came out. I have a theory that they made her the hardest one to keep alive, because you just want her to die.
And yes, the script is supercheesy intentionally, due to being an 80's horror homage, and that cheese thankfully (possibly unfortunately, for some people) lasts the whole game.
The empathic insights continue. I'm seeing more on your playthrough than most others. Keep it up, but recommend ditching the hat if it's itchy. The holidays are in the heart anyway.
I remember a lot of the jump scares were set up for a specific reason. If you had the PlayStation camera set up, then it tries to snapshot you whenever you get hit by a jump scare, it was basically a funny thing you could look back on in those little moments.
nature is full of things that scream, owls, squirrels, raptors. no need to worry.
This is my second time watching this playthrough and I'd forgotten how cute Marz's "stop!" jumpscares can be.

My first time play through ended with Sam and Emily surviving after I jumped the gun and got two others killed right at the end. That was so bad.

Sooo I'm the only one who thought it was adorable when Jess said "Let's go hug a bear!"? Hannah was younger than the group that's still alive, I think Beth was her twin but I'm not sure. And I think besides being the socially awkward, naïve girl, there was something wrong with Hannah. I wish I heard more people talking about that 'cause I think it's obvious.
RE lighting conditions, personally I think just go with what you are most comfortable with. When I play videogames, I like to make sure all seven limbs are comfy. Also yeah, I think the games graphics are great, but the facial expressions are funny, enters uncanny valley territory a little bit. I think it sort of adds to the cheesy horror movie vibe.
I'm glad you noticed the spooky part in the Ouija board scene, many Let's Players miss it. Also I am pretty sure red bars means extremes, in both deficit and abundance, so you have good stats with Jessica as Mike (meaning you pretty much chose the best options there) then lastly... awwh yeah, I feel guilty when people LP this game... so many jumpscares. Game really tries its best to catch you off guard. You are doing great though, especially for a person who doesn't like the dark. Very fun LP so far.
Another game you can maybe consider Marz if you want a choice based story is Heavy Rain, it's pretty good.

Heavy Rain is okay if you don't care too much about a story that makes sense, but it has decent individual moments. Beyond: Two Souls is enjoyable only for how hilariously awful it is.

11:28 - a shape scurries across the ceiling behind Mike. Hard to see, even if you know it's there.
If the "Don't Move"'s end up being too frustrating, just setting the controller on a table can help.
While you did miss one totem earlier in the game, don't worry about blank spots on the R1 page. The totems are not all found in order.
Nobody ever comments about the fact that the first thing that Sam does when she goes to a party is want to take a bath.
It's funny to hear the commentary about the faces. They usually get rave reviews, even 2 years after coming out.
I just watched it 4 times and I still can't see it lol. It's too dark and so fast!
Don't feel any obligation to do this, since it really doesn't add anything to the game, and things will start getting answered soon, but If you pause the game right before the camera cuts from behind Mike to facing Mike, you can then hit the . key to go frame by frame (and , to go back one frame). You'll see it for like 5 or 10 frames, and it's mostly shrouded in shadows.
Again, not a big deal, and it changes nothing. It's ultimately more of an atmospheric thing. Sort of like the woman/girl you saw in the background during the Ouija board scene (who only appears depending on what choices to made before that. Not everyone sees her). There is another one in the upper right corner at 34:32, though it's mostly hidden by your head. :)

The first time I saw the therapist I immediately thought of the one from "Silent Hill: Shattered Memories". As I played this game myself, I began to think that the sessions affect both main story and the time spent with the therapist.

This is the second time I've had breakfast with Marz. This is becoming a habit. :P If you get someone killed, don't worry about it. It's part of the game where it usually just comes down to a 50/50 chance of picking the right or left option like you've been doing.

For the thing " DON'T MOVE ! ", you can put the ps4 controller on a thing flat as a table for example, it makes things easier if you want ( some peoples do this )

+dutchman32 I agree that you should always try to do it on your own at first, some people just have a very hard time with it, since it's so sensitive. I'd say that it makes more sense for someone to "cheat" that way than to get so frustrated with an overly-sensitive game mechanic, that may make them think negatively of the whole game. I mean, I never had problems with it, but I've seen people that literally never would have been able to pass it otherwise. They'd spend 2 or 3 minutes straight trying to not move. And that's a long time when you are failing every 3 or 4 seconds.
Definitely not "cheating" though. That's going a bit far.

Aurélien Simon Dobre you also have to make sure the vibrate on your controller is off if you put it down as, especially in the last scene, the vibrations make the controller move and you will end up killing characters. ( Especially one of my favorite characters).

All the characters look in their 20's in this game and I was originally confused of whether they were all in college or all in high school at first. But I think they are only in high school and some are just graduated seniors. For example I read somewhere that Josh is a 20 year old college dropout. Sam, Mike, chris, and emily are supposed to be 19. But Ashley, Jess, Matt, Hannah and beth are 18. So after a year has pass after the twins death some have graduated and some are now seniors. That is why Emily's boyfriend, Matt, is still rocking that letterman jacket.
The only one who looks like he's still in highschool is Matt. He looks so damn young, but the actor in a BTS clip looks so much older than how his character is portrayed.
In the previous video when Chris in wandering alone in the dark house he finds the prom night photo of Hannah, Sam, Mike and Emily with the date 4/25/13, it will be revealed later that the twins disappeared 2/2/2014 so the game takes place in february 2015, you can do the math. :)
Wow, they are so much younger then I thought. I can see Matt being young now that I think about it with that jacket but, Hannah and Mike look so much older lol. It doesn't help that Hannah looks like someone I know who's almost 30 either. Makes a lot more sense now that I know they're young.

I am really curious how you are gonna end this game. Its not a spoiler but as you have probably already learned there is no turning back in this game. If you make 1 small mistake you can end up killing a character. Thats one of the reasons why this always had me on the edge of my seat. Its so nerve racking! I had so much fun with this game, even if some of the characters are awful people.

It is not a Christmas tree xD. It's called an advent wreath, it has 4 candles and you light one candle each sunday before christmas, so on the last sunday you have all of them lit. What you're talking about is the candleless version which srves as a decoration on your door.

Word of advise: dont always take the "safe path", doing so takes more time, and there are time sensitive parts in this game that could either save or get a character killed.

The game has a cool feature that if you use a Playstation Camera (I believe it only works with a PS camera specifically) you can set it to automatically record all the jumpscare moments.
It's called Cheap Shots, which is a great name, since it even admits that a jumpscare is a cheap way to scare someone.
