I haven't heard a police car be referred to as a panda car since i was a little kid. Not only are these excellent videos but for us that came up through the 80's and 90's they are weirdly nostalgic aswell. I was humming the old theme tune to the bill while watching the panda car following the robbers😂. I was also suprised the van had a tracking system on it.very sophisticated for 1991. I didnt realise tech like that was available back then.

My father use 2 hold up them vans in the 70s an 80s i was born in 79 an my father got 20 yrs in 1980 in hmp long lartin never knew my dad that well untill he stoped his crime waves back in 1994 i was 15 he spend yrs an yrs in jail use 2 visit him when he was in long lartin an many other nicks
Interesting side story about this case.......... The lady (IRL) who was carrying her child into the house, was the mother of someone at my school. The back of the school is less than a minute's walk from where the guard was chained up, and this family lived right next to the school. If i remember correctly, the kid i went to school with was off school and in his bedroom, when all this happened. I grew up in Barnet and in Spain, but was living back in the UK when this happened. I was really young at the time but i remember that this was the talk of the playground. Until watching this video, i don't think i ever knew what happened 😁😁

It became dreadful and the presenters became self righteous, dramatic music was added. someone who let a trainee let loose with a shakey cam. Very sad end
Mind me and a pal going up near the Highlands to stay with two girls for a few weeks, was around 1986 - Not a single shop had an alarm so me and my mate done every single one of them, we got caught after we broke into the VW & Audi showroom, I had a VW Golf GTi running but we couldn't get the bar off the door 2 get the car out, I thot about ramming it with a Passat but it would have made some noise, we ended up taking all the car keys and when we jumped out someone seen us, we lived near by and the person that seen us followed us, our door got kicked in that morning about 5am and we got nicked, the place where we stayed was also full of goods from all the shops we had broken into, you name it we had it, fags booze chewing gum, boxes of Crips and boxes of chocolates, those big jars of sweets can of juice. Daft scally stuff but still a good buzz at the time, lost count up there how many cars we pinched as a lot of them had the keys in the ignition, we were a 2 man crime spree and after various remands the local plod made it very very clear we were not welcome, I still have all my paperwork till this day, HMP Portifield nick was a decent place, very chilled and unlike anywhere I had ever been in back then.
How can you take police seriously when showing up in a Austin Metro.... I remember Dutch police in the city drove Volvo 343 diesels hahaha... Good luck with a chase
