- In this week in my life you’ll see some tougher days which means I don’t feel like doing anything but napping. I have formed a new bond with my indoor cycling bike and peloton app too, and I’m trying on some new scrubs. Don’t believe everything you see on social media because it is completely okay to have days when you don’t want to do anything but just go through the motions. Thanks for watching :)
-xoxo,
Audrey the PA 💛

Thanks for sharing your days at work and also being transparent about it.
😭✋🏻 thank you for watching diem 💛 I feel like no one watches these videos but happy to share & be transparent here.
Derm NP here, stumbled on your channel and so glad I did. Remind me of when I started (1999 as an RN derm clinic then 2005 as an NP). Getting married, just doing life. Enjoy following you. No one knows how stressful Derm can be unless you do it.
@@dianet9923 this made my day! 😭 so happy to meet a fellow dermatology provider here 💛 Your words mean so much and go a long way! thank you for watching and happy to connect with you.
@@Audreythepa everyone thinks it’s “just Derm” until there’s a funky rash they can’t fix n NOW it’s an emergency, right? Everything is SJS or melanoma.
@@Audreythepa Well everyone thinks it’s “just Derm” until they get a funky rash they can’t fix. Everything is SJS or melanoma too. Lordy, no one knows what we go through!

Rose's voice in the beginning :D
I'm a blink if you didn't know already... 🤩
@@Audreythepa omg me too 😭❤️ I noticed as i watched your other video with Gone playing in the background! I love your videos btw I’m currently a freshman at Georgia state university and I used your video as a source for my research essay on my future career ( which is PA in dermatology ☺️)
hey audrey! i was just wondering how common it is to find a job outside of the state where you attended pa school? i was accepted to a program in a state that i don't really want to live in after i graduate, and it seemed like it's easier to get jobs where you did your rotations :(
Hey! It’s actually pretty common to find a job outside of the state where you went to pa school. You just have to start connecting earlier and I would join the state you want to move to state PA organization or Facebook group! It’s just making those same connections early and forming relationships 👍🏻
I don’t want to make any assumptions, but you're probably familiar with the heart. It’s pretty famous, mostly for shooting blood around your body. Continuously. Systole’s it’s job - exerting itself to pump blood everywhere but itself. It works basically all the time.
But it can’t sustain that. It needs its diastole to refill, to take a moment to feed itself. And even with a job as high stakes as *pump blood everywhere*, it spends twice as much time resting as working. And you know what? Everyone gets blood. It all works out fine.
In times of stress, the heart can cut into its rest time and work harder. It can maintain this for a while, but eventually, if it cuts down on its rest time too much, it can’t perform as well. And when it can’t perform as well, things look bad for everyone.
Speaking purely physiologically here, of course.
So, on an unrelated note, take a moment to breath. Take your days off, your minutes between patients, your seconds between charts, and relax. Let yourself refill. All the healthiest hearts are doing it.
thanks for the reminder david! 😭 enjoyed that cardiovascular review!
