Good luck with your attempt! :) In our experience, one of the biggest challenges is the construction of a lightweight and reliable recovery system for water rockets. Since you have already developed a simulation tool, one thing you could do to maximize your performance is to make a full parameter study and optimize for all the parameters you can influence. One thing to consider with the records from WRA2 is that the "low-tech" classes often are not that relevant for many water rocketeers. So there are a lot of great water rockets in this category, but most of them are simply not registered as records. For example, the older and unreinforced Polaron and Axion rockets from AirCommandRockets belong into that category. Our own "Überflieger 2" rocket has reached an altitude of 214m as well.

Thanks for the well wishes. We are looking forward to dipping our toes into the water rocket world. To get to 214m I imagine you used a bit more than 6.9 bar of pressure.

@@ASTRABremen Yeah this comment was referring largely to the Class E. The pressure at our flight was about 8.5 bar with a volume of 9.9l and 630g dry mass.

when i opened the spread sheet and tried to make a copy of it, all of the cells became set values and all the functions disappeared.

What about using a nozzle increase the ifeciency

The nozzle actually has less effect than you might think. Because the flow velocity is fully dictated by the pressure in the bottle, changing the diameter doesn't really change the overall impulse of the thrust. It does change the duration of the thrust though. This means smaller nozzles will perform slightly worse because they take more gravity losses than a shorter thrust phase. There is actually another parameter with respect to the really small nozzles where the friction with the wall of the nozzle becomes a significant factor and this will also sap some efficiency away. But at the bottle rocket scale, this is a relatively minor parameter.

Tried a few times,it's not for me. Now I fly my rockets from an air cannon.Much easier and higher than water rockets.

That's definitely got a bit more power.
