What an amazing response this run has received, thank you! Before the run I thought I was the only person in the room who's ready for this, then the game reminded me that no one is ever truly prepared for it.
25:45 "Father, this is the man I wish to wed. He is pennyless, but his heart is pur-" *stabs everyone* That was the moment that finally made me crack up.
So this is the story of Prince Ali, who marries five chicks and a guy, breaks physics, logic and is the most glorious mess of a game I've ever seen. At least from what I can tell.
This might be my favorite speedrun of all time. The sheer mess that is the game on every possible level, the explanation of the player while the couch utterly fails to hold its laughter back... It's just too much.
they were very proud of that dance animation and they shouldn't have been Rewatching years later, this is still in my top 5 favorite runs of GDQ. Absolutely incredible from start to finish.
My favorite glitch, of the many fantastic glitches, is that when the PC goes out of bounds he becomes a sentient pair of pants with no one wearing them.
I am bizarrely fond of that version of Ali. His dumb expressions and his bare understanding of speech is amazing. Seen that speedrun many times and it still makes me laugh.
That low health groan was timed so well at certain points. He sounds so fed up with everything and everyone... and there wasn't a kiss that didn't make him moan. Even when it wasn't perfectly placed, I seriously could not stop laughing at that the first time I heard it. The hardest I've laughed in a long time... this game seriously hurt me. Ugggh.
What a glorious dumpster fire of a run this was. I really feel for the GDQ staff, but they did good work here. Excellent run all around. Best thing I've watched in weeks.
Sammy Van Dankstein honestly, I just found it embarassing. They laughed manically about every little thing. Not everyone likes to act like that, so they - being so over the top - killed a lot of the crowd interaction. Don't tell me you don't know that situation: someone wants to show you something funny, and the one showing you just laughs like crazy even before you were even able to see things. It's just weird and uncomfortable.
@@TomJakobW I didn't see that happen here. Their laughter almost always matched when I laughed, and you gotta admit it's a fucking hilarious run. Coming from knowing nothing about this game and just seeing it break constantly cracked me up.
29:44 He probably says "At the Akhaba feast" because I paused this video to read all the between chapter splash screens, which mention the place you're in being "the city of Akhaba". So I'd assume that's what it's supposed to be. Those screens also tell you the names of the princesses - the three i can remember are Melissa, Muscade and Spiruline. I did find a fourth name the other day but can't remember it. Will edit this comment if I do.
I wish I had seeds that grew parrots. Especially historically inaccurate parrots (that's a blue and gold macaw. They come from South America. Arabia in this age would have had African Grey parrots or something from India). I do enjoy the bright colors in this game! It makes me want to pull some assets from it for Sims but I think my game would explode.
lmao this is so funny! i used to play this when i was a little kid with my dad! We actually finished this game in 2 years by playing this every weekend lol! brings up lot of memories :^)
Wow can't believe it try searching on youtube and easily like 1 or 2 videos only. In france the game was shipped by an internet provider and given in Episode. Like DLC or something lol
What an amazing response this run has received, thank you! Before the run I thought I was the only person in the room who's ready for this, then the game reminded me that no one is ever truly prepared for it.
You did amazing, man! Thanks for bringing this jewel of a game to light!
One of the highlights of AGDQ 2018 as a whole. Fantastic job man.
This was honestly great man, loved every second of the run, such a funny and entertaining game to run :)
TheKotti Your runs are always funny man. I remember your Blood Money run from a few years ago and that was hilarious.
TheKotti UH UH UH UH UH UHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUUHHHHHH. 10/10.
25:45 "Father, this is the man I wish to wed. He is pennyless, but his heart is pur-" *stabs everyone*
That was the moment that finally made me crack up.
25:51 I don't feel so good
And then starts jumping like a madman
For some reason I heard "but he's hot as hell", lmao
@@USMC49er "If you strike me down, I shall become more glitchy than you can possibly imagine."
That was hilarious. lmao
Clicked for the thumbnail, stayed for the adventure.
56:30 - 57:20
Was the reason for the season.
Once the low health "moaning" kicked in, I was done
Emezie Okorafor wasn't expecting you to be here. Love porkchop and flat screen im with you to the road to 1mill 😄
Thanks!
Hey there! How goes it? Do Twix bars still cost a dollar?
I was in tears lmao
This should be Any% glitchless, because it doesn't look like any of that wasn't intended.
Hell, forget about speed running part, I think playing this game glitchless would be a challenge itself.
i dont think the game was intentional
That's why you had all chapters in the loading section...in case you get tired of the levels 😂
@@Nerr0us Buying it is already herculean.
I'd say that the "press T and the flower appears" thing sounds like a debug code left in the game, but that would imply this game was bugtested.
This right here was top 5 best runs this year.
What's the other 4?
RE7
Bloodborne
Jedi Academy
Megaman Relay Race
This is all 5 in one. The perfect game
So this is the story of Prince Ali, who marries five chicks and a guy, breaks physics, logic and is the most glorious mess of a game I've ever seen. At least from what I can tell.
Ali Ababwa~
Also he has an English accent for some reason
Because of course he does!
i dont think he’s a prince. the second princess he meets describes him as “penniless”
But who needs money when you can break physics over your knee?
This might be my favorite speedrun of all time.
The sheer mess that is the game on every possible level, the explanation of the player while the couch utterly fails to hold its laughter back... It's just too much.
I am arabic and I can confirm this is as realistic as it gets. 10/10
Majd Takla AAAHH
Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.
So you too can play flute and jump infinitely?! And walk/jump through solid walls?!?! WOW!
@@Treychik I'm Arab and I can confirm that's how we travel everywhere.
they were very proud of that dance animation and they shouldn't have been
Rewatching years later, this is still in my top 5 favorite runs of GDQ. Absolutely incredible from start to finish.
"I need to get to that yellow thing over there, because that's the second princess"
HAHAHAHAHA
this is my favorite gdq run of all time hands down
The "ohhhh" at 18:50 gets me every time
Who was the dude talking to?
20:15 "How do you open your jars?"
"I tried sitting on them"
Fuck yeah, 1 guy 1 jar references
My favorite glitch, of the many fantastic glitches, is that when the PC goes out of bounds he becomes a sentient pair of pants with no one wearing them.
This is still perhaps my favorite GDQ run ever.
me too!!
Ah..... Ah.... Ah... Ah.. Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah..
(Bweeeeeigh!)
ATTAAAAACK!!!!
He went that way!
“Uuugh... Uuugh...”
Every year I come here and i laugh like the first time, thanks Kotti for this masterpiece of a run
Well, this certainly is a video game...
It has ascended beyond a mere "game"
Well, it's a video.

"It is software. And you can buy it."
Further beyond
I am bizarrely fond of that version of Ali. His dumb expressions and his bare understanding of speech is amazing.
Seen that speedrun many times and it still makes me laugh.
Definitely my pick for best run of AGDQ 2018, if not the most hilarious.
Tobias in 2015 or 2014 they speedruned town with no name
Meant to say of this or 2018 but hell yeah that was also an amazingly hilarious game.
the couch's constant giggling and joy was so infectious! i've never laughed so hard during awful block. this is pure gold.
Father, this is the man I wish to wed, he is penniless but his heart is uggh!
38:37 The moment this run went from merely hilarious to one of the greatest runs in GDQ history
Such an amazing game. Free of any game-breaking glitches, completely without bugs and whose code has been polished to a sheen.
Definitely one of the best runs I've ever watched at AGDQ.
This run truly solidified awful block if you ask me. One of the all time greats.
Masterpiece
Still come back to this when i need a laugh one of the best speedruns ive ever seen
The incredible dancing couch.
i remember watching this right when it was uploaded and it still hasnt lost its charm
That low health groan was timed so well at certain points. He sounds so fed up with everything and everyone... and there wasn't a kiss that didn't make him moan.

Ugggh.
57:01 was clearly the breaking point.
I have no idea WTF this game is, but I had good 50 minutes of laughter
Brossentia trying his hardest not to burst into laughter at everything is also great
ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ahahaha
I remember watching this live. It is still amazing after all these years.
Gotta love those city sky images...especially the weird one at 27:37 with what looks like water above the city...
Magnificent trainwreck of a game.
Came for the clickbait, stayed for whatever glorious bizarre adventure was that.
What a glorious dumpster fire of a run this was. I really feel for the GDQ staff, but they did good work here.
Excellent run all around. Best thing I've watched in weeks.
This is pure gold
Such a peculiar speedrun. I appreciated it so much
The crowd at 45:46 gets me every time
Oh my God, I almost died laughing when it went back into windowed mode, holy crap that was hilarious!
Guess the first Uncharted didn't age very well
you mean the first PRINCE OF PERSIA
@@prince-solomon please! Even god forgotten first Prince of Persia 3D was better :)
But the game is fun to play...when you're with friends and drunk 😂
I laughed out loud more than I have in a long time watching this run on stream. Brilliant stuff here, thanks a lot! :)
After the framerate issues, they come back at 39:14. They fix the window fairly quickly
But no one should skip it since it's friggin' hilarious
One of my favorite GDQ runs ever
This is one of the most amazing AGDQ runs I have ever seen.
I seriously LOVE games like this. My childhood was dominated by the old PC Harry Potter games, and this game takes me RIGHT back. God Damn.
Damn, the couch lost it way more than the crowd.
I liked the couch for this I had fun with this the crowd can suck it this time.
And?
Sammy Van Dankstein honestly, I just found it embarassing. They laughed manically about every little thing. Not everyone likes to act like that, so they - being so over the top - killed a lot of the crowd interaction.

The best run this year.
Def one of the best runs of AGDQ18.
This was the best run for AGDQ that i watched. Funny and game breaking moves. This is why i love the event.
Their inability to stop laughing was great
A true masterpiece.A shame game devs from today don't take much inspiration from this.
Dude Melissa is the voice of the night elf archer in Warcraft III.
This is "breaking news" and "special bulletin" rolled into one, it totally is!
I love that this game is back at SGDQ 2021! Nothing will ever beat this run though!
best couch out of all of the gdq runs i've seen. best run too :)
this was a very beautiful experience, no regrets
I'm so enjoying this Kotti this is The funniest run and the funniest game I've ever seen greetings from Germany
Run start 13:13
34:50 To the guy in the crowd who laughed at the main character's butt disappearing, you had me laughing for at least 45 minutes.

You may not like it, but this is what a peak speedrun looks like.
“I don’t want that to happen because the writing is so good”
“EEEEEEEEEE!”
The couch lost it during end credits
i am saving this run to watch for last. So i can enjoy it and watch it like it deserves. I only watched the first 5 and im already hyped!.
god i love shit like this its hilarious
ikr
Best run of the entire event. I am so glad I was in the stream room for this run, it was fucking hilarious.
That Turok health pickup sound

Best game ever on PC. Truly a masterpiece.

I keep rewatching this one. Best part is always at the end, when you think you're finally safe, Ali's stupid face pops up with that shit-eating grin 😂
I might be mistaken but was there a ancient Arabian holding a $1 bill 💵??

just coming back to say we succeeded in getting this game onto GOG XD
quite possibly the best speedrun at a gdq event ever. damn that was hilarious!
Just a well-programmed video game doing well-programmed things
This 2001 Prince of Persia alpha build looks so much more fun the the final 2003 release.

I don't normally comment on gdq runs but the voice acting here is truly worth the view. This is horrible and great.
