My Batman cowl arrived last week and I have to say I'm very proud of the piece and it looks great on my shelf. I don't want to wear it. I've set up a black background all around the shelf, at the same time the mask is illuminated all around and I was able to put a small light in the mask that shines from the inside in blue-white or red. In the top left corner there is a small accessory: a purple Joker glove is hanging from a Batarang. You can imagine that it looks very, very good. And I think the question of price is really important too. I got the mask here in Germany for around €100. That's absolutely right for me. Kind regards, Marco
you should definitely ditch the plastic replica and go straight to Hernandez efx for a replica cowl you can wear at a fraction of the cost. totally worth it.
I like mine well enough. Do wish it was more accurate and made of a softer latex/plastic. Feels like a miss opportunity to just make it into a wearable mask with a dummy head underneath
Yeah exactly! I mean I don't think they were that many steps away from making it wearable... But here we are. I wonder too if maybe making it wearable would have it's own problems in terms of some kind of federal compliance issue.
I'd say this McFarlane 89 cowl is purely a fun novelty decor item. The sculpt itself is almost entirely inaccurate to the real piece worn by Keaton and his stunt doubles. For casual fans of the Keaton Batman movies, they won't notice the inaccuracies, so I'd say this novelty piece is perfect for them and a fun little way to decor their cave without worrying about accurate details, etc. This McFarlane display looks to have a blend of smooth Batman Returns contour lines, eye holes and other facial details on it more than the 1989 cowl. There's absolutely no textures to be seen around the scallops and neck region. The only thing that resembles the 89 here, is the emblem. I think they (Warner Bros) might have actually directed the 3D modeler to create it this way on purpose. Because it's really not hard to source out a bunch of 89 cowl images from front, side and back. For what it is though, it's not bad and can spruce (or Bruce) up a fellow Batnerd's cave nicely. ;)

Man, thank you for that info! It's funny because as much as I think I'm a big 89 fan, I'm still just a pleb in comparison haha!
And solid pun hahaha
Stupid novelty 👎😂😂 just my dummy opinion 😜
