  • Franz Liszt
Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in C- Sharp Minor
Franz Liszt, 1811-1886. Regarded as the greatest pianist of all time, Listz's genius extended far beyond the piano to expand musical composition and performance well beyond its 19th century limitations.

Amazing, isn't it? :) I am Hungarian and I feel like there is a lot of depth to this music. The "badassery" always reminds me of the revolution wars around that era. It was an uphill battle against the Austrian Empire but this radiates hope and is an inspiration to this day. I think we as Hungarians should listen to this music more and remember what our ancestors did for us and not throw it away like we do nowadays... :)
      Anyway, enjoy the music! :)

I'm a classical musician, and I learned in the early 70's. My teacher was a tough cookie; he made me learn this, and eventually I played without the sheet music, and taught it to others when I became a teacher . The tempo and timing switches quickly, and now years later, (I'm 60 now), I can see why he chose this for me as a student. If you can learn this, and play it well, you can play ANYTHING . 😉

And above all is the hungarian spirit . The best what hungarian had and have! ( who dosen't listen this composition according to this understands nothing from it ). This big composition reflects all what's hungarian .And if Liszt wasn; t hungarian how did he write such a composition which brings along together everything what's hungarian ? Also his name is actually Franz List not Ferenc Liszt Ferenc is just the Hungarian version of Franz and Liszt is just written in a Hungarian way so Hungarian people could almost pronounce his surname correctly. Btw I'm from the same region where he was born which is today a federal state of Austria called Burgenland where more German and Croatian speakers live than actuall Hungarians. And the German speakers were always the majority in this region. Also Hungarians treated all ethnic minorites like the Germans,Slovak,Serbian, Ukrainian,Romanian, Slovenes Gypsy etc. like a piece of shit tried to make them Hungarian. Member of the black parade: the name of the song is, "Hungarian Rhapsody" not Austrian Rhapsody. As a Hungarian, I can say that this music is a source of pride for the Hungarian people! Also, try to keep in mind that it was the Austro-Hungarian Empire for quite some time, and people identified with what their family background dictated. I, myself, was born in Detroit, but I consider myself to be an Hungarian American.

A hír valóságos megrázkódtatásként ért.
