Where was the multiple late night comedy shows opening with Michelle Obama being portrayed as a gorilla? Where was the right wing SNL using the same tired jokes over and over again? The idea that somehow the alt-right on 4CHAN are equal in any way to the constant barrage from the media against Trump is laughable. Where was the Jimmy Kimmel monologue about Michelle's Penis? Where was the sketch about Obama being from Africa? They didn't happen on network television. Not even FOX said the kinds of things we're now saying about Trump. I voted for Hillary, but you'd be BLIND to not see the difference.

There will always be people mocking the first lady. The difference is that I never saw any mainstream media mock Michelle Obama the way they doing to Melania Trump. And the problem is that the conservative sites that did so were openly conservative, which made their bias very clear, but mainstream media keeps on claiming that they are unbiased objective coverage/comedy/etc. There is a very clear bias here, which in of itself is not wrong (it's really impossible to be unbiased), but the fact that they claim to not be biased at all is laughable. Just own up to it. Embrace the bias, and so that way people watching it understand better the biases of each network and make better efforts to get the both sides. Because otherwise people actually rely on this as their main news source, and unless they have sources covering both biases, their news perception will be very warped. That's why I still watch these even though I am conservative. It's important to have more exposure, but pretending to be unbiased influences people to stick to only one kind of exposure.
