Glenelg High School Jazz Band in 1986 on Channel 13

  • I was the drummer for the Glenelg High School Jazz Band in 1985 & 1986 and we were invited to play at the 1986 Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Barry Enzman was our band teacher. Channel 13 in Baltimore came out & did a piece on us about it, which also happened to be the day that we graduated. I was 18 here.

    It’s very interesting being a student at Glenelg in 2018 and seeing that our school was so musical talented in 89 compared to today is just amazing.

      oh yea? I played at Mr E's retirement bash in 2015 so that was cool to hear them then. How's it going now? And this was 1986, not 89

    Hey Jeff. Were you in the music ambassadors? Toured Hawaii. California summer of 1987? I was also. 1sr trombone and jazz also. I've been looking for s tape of the concert

      Jeff Wald hey thanks bud. Just thought you were the drummer in the jazz ensemble because you sound darn good. I wonder who else played drum set at your high school then? Actually the drummer could have been from a hundred other high schools. We had the best of the tri state area. About 5-6 out of 70-75. just from your high school. The most by far from one school.
