My SUN STUDIO Recording Session, Track #2: Boppin' the Blues - Jez Quayle

Last Sunday evening I had a recording session at the world famous Sun Studio in Memphis Tennessee. A put my iPhone on a little tripod to capture the event. As I recorded pretty much the entire session I had to reduce the quality of the video so that I could get it all on my phone. Consequently, the video isn't as sharp as usual. I decided to give this one the black and white treatment.
Many thanks go to recording engineer Daniel Crockett and assistant recording engineer Lydia Fletcher for doing an amazing job of recording, and making me feel so welcome. It was a great thrill and a dream come true to be able to record where so many legends recorded. In this video I'm sitting on the spot where Elvis (stood) to record That's All Right and his other great Sun Records. So many of my musical heroes recorded great music in that same room: Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Billy Lee Riley, Warren Smith, Sonny Burgess, Ray Smith, Charlie Rich, and many more. Here's my acoustic guitar version of a great rockabilly song that Carl Perkins recorded in that very same studio in 1956.
