Thank you, thank you, thank you. You’ve got the best explanation of OBS. I could not understand this before. After watching your video I got so inspired to using OBS . What a cool software. Thanks so much . Your voice is so pleasant to listen to.
NIce video, one thing that I had noticed is that you have used your camera in selfie mode, this mirrors the image, the numbers on your keyboard are mirrored and what you played was mirrored compared to what synthesia displayed. Could get a little confusing for your students.
Ah good spot Patrick, thank you. The video setup was just a proof of concept relly but in any case you can mirror the output again in the OBS software. Cheers.
thanks.. very usefull ..the only problem is my computer have a latency before send anything.. I´m traying to resolv that problem, and second problem is the quality of my sound... but I hope developp this with your skills.. thanks.. and suscribed
Great tutorial.. i am facing audio latency problem here with the setup.. is there any way to resolve this? there is a gap between audio and video on student side. Please help.. Thank you 😇
I haven't looked into this I'm afraid. Would be easy to do in post-production (in video edit) but live, I'm not so sure. Worth researching. Let me know how yoiu get on.
Thanks for the vid! However, after trying all the concepts out, the out of sync video is the biggest problem. Ive spend hours on this and can't find any solution that will help. Any ideas or video recommendations?
Thanks David. I have seen the latency issue in OBS too. I often resort to simple screen-sharing via Zoom where the audio and video at least arrives simultaneously. Try setting up a desktop/screen layout that allows this to work for you. It really depends on what you are doing with your OBS setup.
Hi Colin, great video. I was wondering a couple things. I'm a newbie to this but a long time pro musician with home studios for many years, so not timid with tech. I have a couple older iphones (ex a 4 and a 6) can I use those as spot cameras in addition to my iPad Pro (3 yrs old)? Can the OBS be switched remotely? I want to go to a different area of my studio to play the grand piano in real time, then back to the studio desk, and in between to do bass/guitar things. So I'd want to have several video sources setup (at least 3) and maybe do this via USB or a hybrid with USB and HDMI, but not sure if that's doable. I've seen the BlackMagic ATEM mini ISO where you can not edit later to fix things afterwards and build a library of teaching videos while still being able to do 'live' lessons on new subjects (and be recording each feed to a hard drive). Can you discuss that for a minute here: ? thanks. LG
Hey Larry. This all only came about through my own experiments and I can't confidently predict how it might work with other gear, I can only recommend a thorough Google and testing. OBS is free anyway and if you have the phones/cameras it's just a case of trying it. I fancy you may struiggle to get two onlder iPhones connected though - I'm sure I had this problem trying to connect both an iPhone and iPad simultaneoulsy and they were fairly new. But I believe there are remote switches and apps you can use - check out: th-cam.com/video/r_MY2Ds2tds/w-d-xo.html
Hello. Please tell me. Is it possible, using an ordinary home piano, to create such lessons if there is no MIDI keyboard. If so, what programs are needed? thanks for the answer
Ok so you seem to be doing this very differently than anyone else so I am wondering why you are not just using the virtual camera in OBS and bringing that into zoom as your camera, and bringing the audio on from your DAW vs sharing the screen as you do in this demo. How are you capturing the audio?
At the time, the virtual camera wasn't working in the Mac version of OBS. Everything has changed a lot since this video, so there may well be more streamlined ways of doing this now - and I'm not needing to do is so often either. Audio was coming in through an external mixer and combined with the audio output from Logic (computer audio).
Hi. No, the iPhone was connected via USB and OBS saw it straight away without any fiddling. I just used the free 'True Visage' app for a clean video signal.
Hi, I tried downloading OBS last night and I was able to figure out how to add video capture camera on my program. But when I did the transitioning to the right screen, the image came out smaller than the one on the left screen. There were two solid grey colors on top and bottom of the image . Do you think you can help me with this?
Thank you so much for sharing this!
Excellent video for piano teachers!

Thank you for the setup. May I know if I have to pay for the full version of SYNTHESIA to use only the the layout of the keyboard?
The demo version is time-limited Kee. If I remember correctly it has all the functionality but it's well worth the money.
Thank u 4 z inf; reg musc sheet how can u + a cursor for sightreading instead of moving from the side??
Thank you. I'm not sure I understand your question though?

how to display music score which run over the keyboard when we plays song, and the page will turn over automaticlly.

How is your audio from Logic feeding to Zoom?
If I remember (it's been a while since I have had to do this again) you can select Zoom as your output in Logic's Audio Preferences.
Did you use an app to connect your iPhone to OBS?
Hi. No, the iPhone was connected via USB and OBS saw it straight away without any fiddling. I just used the free 'True Visage' app for a clean video signal.

That's not one I've come across Blessie. Likely something in your Video settings - if not check the support/forums at OBS.
@@ColinWillsher THAT'S ALLRIGHT. I've already figured it out. Thanks for your reply anyways.
Can you post monkey business theme?
Haha! I'm afraid I can't without permission, as it's published by EMI.
@@ColinWillsher is it available to be heard anywhere these days? Seems to be wiped off the internet haha
