The dance was stunning, but they were landing on their heels in every single jump and leap they performed. It's a very basic thing that you're taught in dance, it's how you absorb your landing with your plie.
The pose Maddie does right at the beginning, when the music goes; "so many guns in New York" and she holds her hand behind her back like a gun! Powerful!
Asia was completely off in this number, they might have won if she wasn't in it. Brooke was definitely very strong in this dance, I thought that she was great. Maddie's timing was amazing. I don't see where Paige supposedly messed up, I think she was great as well. Chloe and Nia were good as well, and so was Mackenzie.
+Jessie Chang I think they made up the drama with Paige messing up to cause attention to Cathy and Abby fighting. Since in the episode they changed the dance to something else and needed something to replace the dance.
Not to be offensive because idk you personally or if your a dancer. But if you are you should see where Paige messed up. If not I'll explain, she's just a little off the entire time, her Leaps were sloppy and her legs weren't straight in her jumps. She's amazing and I love her but this dance was not her best performance

Nandi_bunny excuse, maddie performed in over 5 music videos and she's in a movie. Nia performed in Australia, she has great and successful music. Mackenzie is a great singer and acrobat who had a #1 album and has a turning board. I could go on and on.
You have to admit between all the drama of this fake, reality show this dance was stunning. It had a beautiful meaning and it was choreographed to perfection. It wasn't some cutesy little dance... it was a story. No matter the mistakes made in the dance. All of the girls tried their best under the circumstances. Great job ALDC. Amazing choreo Gianna, and great correcting Abby...
@@greenbeantm1096 the drama wasn't fake, it was coerced by the producers, they'd get the moms and abby to talk about each other or do things and threaten them that if you didn't stir up drama that they wouldn't get paid but all the issues were real, they were just brought up by producers, like when Melissa didn't want Maddie to have a duet with Kendall or like when Christi brought up Melissa's affair, those were all very REAL issues but the producers would make the moms talk about it or they'd pretend to be their friends and ask them about the drama and then once the moms told them, they'd tell the other person like "hey Melissa, Christi said this about your husband, you should bring it up." That's not "fake" drama, calling it fake drama when it's still all of their lives and personal business being put on blast is a little ridiculous.

Yeah that is true but I’ve seen comments say she shouldn’t have been in the group dance but she had a lil solo with Mackenzie with the song so if she would’ve fixed her timing it might’ve won although I didn’t she the other dance so they could’ve gotten the same place
I love how well the ALDC can tell a story. I also love when the lead ( or sometimes other members of the group) walk/run off stage in the opposite direction. It makes the story more "real" if you will

No. Does it mean this is the best she has done? No, she just wasn't bad. I thought Brooke did the best and Maddie's timing at the end was fantastic.
You can hear the gasping of the audience after the voice in the music says "massacring 20 children" and when Maddie is shot. And it was so quiet that you could hear the girl's feet when they landed after jumps. This dance was so powerful, it gave me goosebumps, which almost never happens when I watch dancing. I think it only got second place because Asia was behind a lot.
Watching this version for the first time on the day of the Uvalde school shooting and I feel both haunted and sick to my stomach. Truly beautiful dance and an important message. Creepy, but truly on the same level as the Last Text and Where Have All the Children Gone in terms of importance and handling the topic well. The change to "Runaways" and the music on the show was truly a disservice to this number. Thank you for sharing.

This is my favorite Dance Moms group dance becuase of it's message. not because it was a winning number, which it wasn't. I can see why the CADC won. Their dancers were flawless and looked so nice and mature. But this dance will always be my favorite.
this dance holds a special place in my heart, i live 5 minutes away from the town where the sandy hook shooting happened, and when i hear the news reporter talking about it my heart sinks down to my stomach, regardless of who was off on what or how the dance placed, this dance was gorgeous and has such a deep and personal meaning to many, myself included 💚💚

I wouldn't say that Asia was terrible I would just say that she was off timing on the jumps because she more little than the others on the team but if she was on time she would have did good but she wasn't terrible just need a little more work
If I remember correctly, she is the same age as Kenzie in this number. This number is considered a spoken word number though, or at least majority of it, and the music didn't have obvious beats in it either. It's very hard to do a group with this kind of music. And Asia wasn't trained the same way as the other girls(she's from a different studio with different teachers and training), so it's understandable that she would have some trouble.

I also think Asia's one of those dancers that relies on the song for the timing and doesn't actually know the counts,because the part that had beats she was actually on the timing.
Maddie and Brooke are my favourites to watch in dances like these especially. Maddie killed it with the timing at the end and Brooke just looks beautiful on stage

This dance does things to me I can't describe it. It's so dark and heavy but the tone of it mixed with the audio gives me that feeling in the pit of my stomach that you feel seeing things about school shootings and I think it was very well done
This was the best performance of theirs to date, in my opinion. Not only in HOW they performed, but the story was so touching and it made me tear up - especially at the end.
Rewatching this after the shooting in Texas. As someone who lives near Sandy Hook and knows people deeply affected by that day, it sickens me how since this dance was made, shootings in America have only gotten a million times worse.
I have to disagree that this dance is too mature for them. Children have to go to school and have active shooter drills and see this happening on the news and have to have their teachers and parents explain to them that this kind of violence is very real and they have to be prepared if it happens. That shouldn’t have to be something they are exposed to and they shouldn’t have to live with that knowledge but they do. We all have to live with and reflect on that. I hate what Abby and the show runners did to these girls, but I cannot deny that I think this dance is incredible.

I think Maddie was really the only one who gave 150%. She gave it her all with the turns, emotion, and her leaps ( hitting oversplit in every single one) I couldn't take my eyes off her.
abby really does put together some wonderful topical performances like this. but god it's a shame what the girls had to go through under her :( this piece is so striking, the absolute dead silence of the audience. they're so fully invested, and i definitely feel the same just watching on my phone
Im not a fan of the costuming but Maddie's timing and facials were amazing, Brook did really well in this dance, all of the girls were pretty good, with the acception of Asia, she was either a beat behind or ahead, I'm not sure, but I otherwise it was great. And right after the announcements at the beginning, the girls had the whole audiences full attention, you could've heard a pin drop. Outstanding choreo and will always be one of my faves
BloodTypeAPlus 0:43 is the Sandy Hook school shooting.... it happened a town over to where I live... It's amazing how these dances can connect to us so personally. They don't know how many people they touch doing these types of dances.
tbh this is one of my favourite group dances, even though asia was off. it gives me chills everytime that i watch it, and the storyline is even better.
Haha the tension of the moment was ruined by the cheesy announcer at the end. Great dance. Kids doing dark numbers is so striking when they pull it off.

I love Chloe’s emotion after Maddie gets shot. She expresses it so well
I think Maddie was really the only one who gave 150%. She gave it her all with the turns, emotion, and her leaps ( hitting oversplit in every single one) I couldn't take my eyes off her.

this piece is so striking, the absolute dead silence of the audience. they're so fully invested, and i definitely feel the same just watching on my phone

Im not a fan of the costuming but Maddie's timing and facials were amazing, Brook did really well in this dance, all of the girls were pretty good, with the acception of Asia, she was either a beat behind or ahead, I'm not sure, but I otherwise it was great. And right after the announcements at the beginning, the girls had the whole audiences full attention, you could've heard a pin drop. Outstanding choreo and will always be one of my faves

BloodTypeAPlus 0:43 is the Sandy Hook school shooting.... it happened a town over to where I live... It's amazing how these dances can connect to us so personally. They don't know how many people they touch doing these types of dances.

tbh this is one of my favourite group dances, even though asia was off. it gives me chills everytime that i watch it, and the storyline is even better.

This is definitely Abby's masterpiece! Childeren with guns will always be my favorite group dance! 😍 I know Asia was totally off and they couldn't win but still... I miss those lovely times and the originals 💜 Abby's choreographies were a lot better...

I hate that Abby put Asia in this dance because she was so off throughout the whole dance and in rehearsals. Asia ruined the dance and it’s a shame because I feel like they could’ve won because the messages was so strong and the others conveyed it amazingly.
This is one of my favorite group dances. This told a story, just like their dances 'Taken' and 'The Last Text'.

This dance gives me chills, I never looked up this dance because I never thought it would be relevant but one or two months ago my school had a lockdown because there was a shooting outside and it was very scary, now I really understand this dance
this probably would've won first if Asia weren't in it. but it was still amazing! every time (and I'm not exaggerating) i watch this i get the chills. defiantly in my top 5!
This is a beautiful dance, one of the best on the show. I wish they had shown the true meaning and shown the real song and full dance. Now that I know what the dance is actually about the episode made more sense when I went back and watched it
