I haven’t played a single one of these, but I’m so looking forward to it! I’m really fascinated with old 8-16 bit games, and yearn to experience more Commodore 64 games! Great that we get some of the very best at last!

Great video as always :-) A Thalamus Collection on the Evercade is definitely a "dream come true" for me and glad Blaze decided to release this. I see a lot of TH-camrs from over the pond have no idea who Thalamus were or have ever seen these games, so I guess it'll be a tougher sell over there, apart from for completionists. Keep up the awesome work!

Thanks Jamie. Yeah I noticed that a lot of our US friends have no idea about Thalamus. Probably a little like me regarding Sunsoft or Renovation.. totally new to me. Regardless I'm delighted that Thalamus are on board. System 3 next?

I loved the three C64 collections so far but there wasn’t much new for me there. This is all new though! No idea how I’ve avoided all of these but great to see here and I’m definitely sold! Thanks!

Personally I have liked all the blue carts so far.

It is very interesting that they didn't split the collection. It could mean that home computer licenses are cheaper to license or it could indicate a lack of faith in them selling carts on their own due to a more negative reaction from gamers on the other side of the Atlantic. Either way its good for us.

I am really looking forward to this. I have most of the games on my actual C64 but will love to play them on the EXP. Along with the Tomb Raider Collection, it has to be a great show case of the British games industry from the last century.

For me the cart is all bout 4 games: Hunter's Moon, the Creatures double pack and Armalyte. Anything else is a bonus. The basketball on a leg game looks intriguing, reminds me a little of a game called Booga-Boo, graphically. I seems like one of those titles that probably plays well once you understand it but is perplexing without the right guidance (see also Gribbly's Day Out).
I'm unfamiliar with the others but at this point I'm used to the filler Blaze gives us, its reminiscent of how companies would load up compilation tapes in the past.

Certainly the best C64 collection so far and the first one I'll buy. I have a C64 Maxi, but I'm happy to support the prospect of better collections on Evercade. A Rainbow Arts collection would be a nice addition. Even a Turrican collection spanning C64, Amiga, Megadive and Snes. They've been rereleased a few times recently. I still have Mega Turrican on my Megadrive and I think it still easily holds up against modern 2D platform shooters.

I have no nostalgia for the C64 but one thing that stands out to me even today is how good the sound was on the system. Even now the music in some of the games (Armalyte) sound fantastic.
I do wish Blaze would give the C64 a rest though, we need more variation in the home computer line. I'd love to see some more Amiga and maybe Atari ST, DOS or MSX.

This looks like a great vfm selection. Thalamus games were never bad, and even at the less great ones were still worth a game or ten.
It's all about the reduxed versions of Hunter's Moon & Armalyte for me. Hunter's Moon is a fantastic game, and the strategy element mixed with shooting is superb. It has great music by Matt Gray & the sfx by Martin Walker are fantastic.
The competition edition of Armalyte has level select & change enemy bullet speed (i think) along with other bits and pieces. The original was one of the best shumps on ye olde bread bin.
Speaking of Armalyte, it was supposed to be the spiritual successor to Delta (it's called Delta 2), and why that game and Stavros Fasoulas' other two games for Thalamus aren't on here (Sanxion & Quedex), is a mystery.

Better than Stormlord anyway...Forgotten Worlds is Capcom, built into the EXP and SuPo. I grew up playing the Sega Genesis port...it was a pretty early release on that system. Hawkeye looks to play kind of like Duke Nukem, and the main character looks like a clone of Sly Stallone from Rambo...Heatseeker reminds me of the animated segments from Monty Python. Remember the Monty Python computer game from back in the day? It was very silly...Hunter's Moon looks WAY better than I'd expected, intro ripped straight from Blade Runner. Yeah, Retrograde looks a bit like a cross between Forgotten Worlds and Target: Earth with maybe some Defender vibes...did that mouse poop a killer robot drone out of his arse when you grabbed that butterfly wings icon?!? LOL!!! 😆

You can change the super weapon in Armalyte with the Commodore key on C64 (Player 1) -There's 3 in total for each player. One of them is quite cool.
-Also, you can get more batteries and chargers so you can fire your super weapons for a longer time, and more often. -I think you were too fast with the look at the game, compared to Creatures.

C64 1 is probably the worst of the 3. It was a terrible way to debut the system and shows Blaze haven't a clue how to curate. C64 2 was much better with the absolute banger that is Uridium and some other interesting titles like Nebulous, Firelord etc.
The 3rd one is worth getting for Paradroid and Boulderdash but that's about it. Especially since Cybernoid 2 is broken.

'TheC64' is its own trademark from Retrogames ltd who made the mini and maxi. All the games are sub-licensed by them. This is the first developer specific cart and is a much more exciting prospect. We don't have "NES collection 1" or "Amiga collection 1" so naming the cart after the system was never a great way to present it.
