I agree Mikaela about 'balancing'. Actually I agree with ALL your tips here LOL. But Yes! The balancing part tho. That's why I am here my second time around on TH-cam. I burned myself out on another TH-cam channel four years ago due to having absolutely no balance. I'm here starting over now. This time I will definitely have balance, pace myself, and to only do what I can handle. Gotta be honest with myself. I do not want the same bad habits to repeat and then I fail (again). NOPE! Not doing it, not doing that. I'm in my 40's too so I gotta be strong this time around. I also love creating and documenting the journey and sharing it with others with hopes of inspiring others to take action too. If I can do so can you (is my attitude). So I am all here for it. Share share share LOL. Janelle
Yes, Janelle! That's how I feel too - if I can do it and figure it out, anyone can. At any age! I think what's going to help both of us stay consistent and not burn out is to have a plan. I'm working on that now - a designated day where I record 1-2 videos, a day to edit and a day to post, once a week. We can do this!!
I am 45 and I am completely starting over,...like going back to undergrad type pivot lol. I've been loving it so far but I'm excited to remake a new career for myself. I'm thinking of starting my own channel to document my journey as well. I like what you said about confidence being about trusting yourself before you know all the answers and that is exactly my experience as well. I have clung to the adage that failure is just redirection. That helps me to feel that whatever I do and decide is good because ultimately, it's going to bring me to a good place for me in the end. I have a question, how did you navigate the launch from your job to your new career? How did you decide when it was time to let go of the job and be in full with your new career? How did your husband, if you want to share, take your pivot?
That is super exciting, Tamara! Congratulations on going back to school for that career pivot! I like to think of life like a GPS - all we have to know is what our final destination is. As long as we keep moving the GPS will tell us where to go or redirect us if we get off track - even make a legal u-turn if we need to! lol. As far as my own pivot, I had already been doing both things on the side of my full-time job already. I had started my brand and was creating content and making a little bit of money from campaigns. I worked in the corporate offices for an airline and when the pandemic hit, (cont'd below)
they were offering severance/retirement packages. Fortunately I met the age and time of service requirements and was able to 'retire' from that job with a cushion! That gave me the confidence I needed to make the leap and work on my passions full-time. My husband was all for it! He'd done the same in the past and I supported him through it, so he was happy to be there to support me
New subbie and starting a business in my 40's! Thanks for this video!
Ohh exciting! Best wishes on your new journey!
