The cover artist is a combo piece in a deck Dane has been running with Thaddius and Pyrotechnician - make all even spells in your hand cost -8, cast everything, hope Pyro gives you fireballs. (If you get nothing but odd-cost fire spells, there's also the two-mana spell that makes your other spells cost one less so you can continue.) Jankmage Antonidas, basically.
It's tricky I think it's perfectly possible they both got there at the same time independently. Dane has been doing something similar in wild for a long while, languagehacker may have gotten there first in standard

In the match against the Paladin, why did Kibler play Rivendare on the right side of Argus? Wouldn’t it have been better to give him Rush, trade with The Countess, and get the other Riders quicker?
He already said during that game that he messed up a few placements around argus. Not the biggest deal. Rushing in rivendare was probably better, but not the end of the world to get a 6 lifestealer instead
Stealing cards with their effects activated with Theotar is certainly one of the biggest game deciding mechanics at times. I once had my ~30x infused C.N.E. stolen. Was not very happy.

Because they aren't his win condition. It's very unlikely he would draw them all and have them die before the game was over anyway.
