Kirk Cousins did not get sacked in this game, and Jordan Addison made some huge plays that really set the tone for this entire game. The Defense forcing 3 turnovers, Camryn Bynum collecting 2 picks late was the capper. Great team win by the Vikings

We aren't going to attempt to march down the field in 9 seconds so a batted ball is just as good as the Int there. It's a completely different game without those 6 points as time ran out in the first half.

As someone who went to this game. I can officially say that it was CRAZY in that place. I’ve been to 4 games and this was the craziest (I’m a Viking fan).
I love us bank and my fellow vikings fans. Such a great atmosphere full of passion and brotherhood. I always sit on the end of my friends from the aisle so I can sit next to strangers that become my buddies by the end of the game

As a Vikes fan, this was their best win in a long time. They played their hearts out. O-line played well, defense made big plays, and Cousins played well in prime time ! I like that Troy said Cousin's is a top 10 QB. He is when he gets protection like tonight.

Cousins has ALWAYS had a good O line this year, all the stats have been done and the most common denominator is he doesn't get the ball out fast enough. Perhaps he's fixing that.

The O-line has to be one of the biggest improvements in the Vikings' game today...the whole team played well so not to detract from the team effort...but zero sacks on Cousins speaks to the heart of the O-line in this game against the 49'ers.
Also about Cousins who took a few hits after throwing the ball. He played as good and courageous as anyone that I can remember.

One word not often used to describe Kirko is Tough. That guy takes hits, faces blitzes, really has done a much better job keeping his cool last couple years. Hope MN can sign him long term as he is the best QB solution they have consistently had taking snaps in a long time

Great game. Vikings were dominant the majority of the game but in true Vikings fashion they made it closer than it needed to be.

Yeah they turned what should have been a comfortable 34 to 17 win into another nail biter.

Seemed like a lot of bad playcalling. Field goals from the 2 yard line.
But attempting a 50 yard FG at the end was a braindead move. A decent punt and they've gotta go 90 yards with no timeouts in under a minute. Nearly impossible.
Miss the coin-flip FG, and now they have the ball at the 40. Totally doable.
And okay, say you make the FG. 8 point lead, they still need a TD and have 70 yards to cover, plus a 2 pt conversion, to force OT. So basically even if you make that FG, it's not that big a deal.

You have to be able to win injured. Vikings have JJ out, and are still making the offense work.
And Addison out for a quarter or so as well. Playing with their 3rd, 4th and 5th receivers.
It also shows Purdy is no more than a slightly below average quarterback when the stacked offense is not there.

It doesn't matter. The Vikings win/loss scoring margin this season are too close. They may become 1st in their division or they may be fighting for a wild card spot to only lose in the 1st or 2nd round in the playoffs.

Through the first 5 games Deebo, McCaffrey and Kittle all had over 70% of their yards come after the catch. Purdy has been bailed out by guys turning short passes into big gains on a consistent basis.

I’ve always said Purdy is a mediocre quarterback who got lucky enough to fall into game managing the best offensive system/personnel in the NFL. When Brock Purdy has to play outside of the structure and make plays down the field with limited time, we see he’s not that type of quarterback. In his own division, he doesn’t have the skills/talent that Matthew Stafford or Geno Smith have, and he hasn’t had to deal with the massive offensive injury issues those QB’s have had to play with, the disparity of play from the defensive side of the ball, nor the criticism those had to face for problems largely out of their control. But when he has to make real NFL plays when the system break downs, we can see he is not only no better, but probably worse. You put Brock Purdy on any team in his division or conference outside of the 49ers, he’s a regular backup/practice squad QB. He’s obviously not terrible. He’s leagues better than Jimmy Garappolo (low bar), far less raw than Trey Lance, but he’s nowhere near where 49ers fans have pretended he’s supposed to be.
You put Kyle Shanahan under a polygraph test and ask him if he wouldn’t directly swap him the first chance he gets for Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff, Matthew Stafford, Geno Smith, Derek Carr, Jalen Hurts, or even Mac Jones, I think you’d see a very nervous Shanahan.
Look like he is just like his predecessor, Garoppolo, - can't play under pressure. That separates him from great QB's like Brady and Mahomes

Kirk Cousins played a tremendous game for his team as he threw for 379 yards with 2 touchdowns. Then, he was drafted on the same team as RG3 except he played in the NFL longer than him. I remember he was drafted by the Redskins. He has come a long way since playing for the Redskins. He is having heck of a career as a starting quarterback. That’s an accomplishment!
