Light saber..... Maybe a little goofy....... But for some reason.....I love it..... Thanks for showing humor!!!!..... By the way I do massively enjoy your videos!!!!
Enjoyed the humorous approach to the distillation of the Dark (side) Beer, a most interesting approach to whisky production. I am very interested in the attention to the tails aspect that you gave, it seems to me that there is much more research and investigation required into the tails aspect of this type of whisky (and maybe other grain types). I believe that many of the professional distilleries invest heavily into the fermentation side of production which you ma have suspected in your comment regarding quality of grains and additives to the fermentation. Excellent video, I am very interested in distillation of all types of ethanol liquors, sadly however it must remain so, as in the UK we are not allowed to carry out distillation of alcohol without a licence. I look forward to many more of your productions. I have an idea for your wine distillation mentioned in your short video requesting ideas for fruit, how about using Blackthorn leaves, I have heard that they can be used instead of the Blackthorn (Sloe) fruit to make a flavoured spirit. Thanks once agin for a most interesting production, kind regards.
Thanks Edward. I enjoyed making it. Spain is an interesting place as far as civil liberties go. A man can do more or less anything in his own property as long as it does not break major laws. Eg, grow weed, distill, brew beer etc, but a license is needed to sell it. Shame the UK doesn't take the approach to distillation as it does to beer/wine homebrews.
If you light the jar after putting in the wood, and then put on the lid it will create a vacuum. Thus drawing out the air in the wood and forcing in the spirit.
Hahaha!!! Why is it, that all/the majority of us are nerds? Ps. Do u use the parrot all the time? How about smearing? Do you drain the parrot between cuts?
All the best people are nerds at heart! Yes, it's there so I use it. I tend to work mostly on sensory info for cuts, but its good to have the data on ABV - it helps me understand my still better. I only worry about smearing on Spirit runs, and then only when near transitional points between heads/harts/tails - I don't worry during hearts, or when I am deep in the tails. I just lift out the alcohol hydrometer to stop the flow before the jar is totally full, and put the jar under the drain of the parrot to empty it. IMO the smearing is minimal anyway.

Haha, yeah I should have bottled the backset!

Ka-boom - haha - I am sure that would work, but I am not brave enough to try!
