It's called ghost gunner. And they just updated their product. It comes with the software program and can turn a 80% lower to complete and the new update nows turns raw stock into a complete lower receiver
I would think that you just have to have the right g-code set/program to get that option, which involves working some CAD/CAM software to make the G-code set needed for the whole thing. I don’t know how the ghost gunner CNC rigs do their thing with their program. If it allows you to machine anything that’s not a lower, then it may be possible to just add/run the option steps/program for said pocket after everything else is done.
That's both true and not true. The way that the machine currently probes off of the pistol grip (which isn't a blueprinted location) means that the machine might place it in an incorrect location. With GGD's new fixture which essentially probes off of the front takedown pin, that issue is eliminated. If you stick with DD's code, jig, and lower you'll be fine though.
@@indoorkite651 didn't say how the law should be applied, just how it seems to be applied in practice. Good luck with the windmills, and all that. I donate to an org that *might* try to change that if they have success in their current trial slate.
@@a.s.j.g6229 Because at the time I made that comment, the probing on the Ghost Gunner 3 with the jigs that Defense Distributed provides is terrible. Even the aftermarket codes were garbage. The new GGD store Universal Jig is all in one. It's useful for all AR15 patterns because the datum points are different. Even then, this machine is still only a niche product.
these are garbage and a waste of money. for 500 more you can have an actual mini mill that can do more than 1 specific thing as in milling a lower. shit for 1500 more you can mill out a whole lower from a billet block with a cnc router
I had a mini mill. Then a mid sized mill. And then access to a Bridgeport with DRO. But this is way easier. Did a 0% forging on my mini mill, that was a nightmare.
i still have my 80% waiting to get done. I really miss those build parties back in 2015

I much prefer the full pocket/M16 style of lower. Are there programs for that?
Yes. GGD store
@@printingwithpeek4897 Thanks. I'll get in touch with them.

About an hour total

Milled; not drilled… with a thin slice of lemon.
What machine is this? Any link or information?
not bad for a machine that is not a full size inclosed with flood coolant mill
Mine didn't come with the mwj mag jig?
i guess the question is that why are you not doing m16 cuts
Have you tried anodized lowers ? If so does it interfere with the probe when doing the rear pocket?
It does. It'll most likely cut off center unless you either sand down the areas the machine indexes off of, or I've read of a trick using copper tape
with a cnc you do not need a probe you can use a edge finder.
This can be done from one solid piece now instead of multiple components i.e upper lower lower lower etc?
Yes
Where do you get your metal at?
