38:54 since melee is broken up into separate sentences you can use the first sentence to take out the guard, and then the second one to attack the villain. If it were something like Cap’s Shield Toss it wouldn’t work because with that card you have to make all choices simultaneously and the guard would prevent the villain from being a valid target
A suggestion for future episodes of Marvel Rewind: instead of limiting the deck construction to cards available up to the release of the villain, would you consider increasing the difficulty and theme by limiting yourself to cards from the wave (or maybe Core plus wave)?
@@Haze01Smash This is a really good suggestion and something that I'm "basically" doing. I think I'll have a sit down discussion about the series after RoRS and see how people are feeling. Going through making the decks, I try to limit the card pool as much as possible without being overly restrictive. For example, this deck list only uses two card sources: Core and Ms. Marvel. However, you'll see how that quickly blossoms as more cards are added. I don't want to give a set number of restrictions because there may be a deck that comes around later that truly blossoms with a random 3 of from an unrelated hero pack. On the opposite end, I also want to completely avoid getting a baseline "'core" or "power set" that make the decks too samey. Even though I do that personally to make consistent decks, I'm not going to include Endurance (for example) in every deck list if that's the ONLY card from Ms. Marvel. I want there to be a healthy mix of theme and challenge and hope that's represented well. I want to quell any fear that the series will eventually get to deck lists that require 19 packs because it goes against my initial vision. This is sort of a long-winded response but I hope it illuminates where my head is currently at.

Oh shoot, I mean that makes sense. Just playing it safe rather than sorry, wasn't worth taking a break to confirm the ruling LOL.
@ the proper application of the Grim Rule 👍👍
I love the idea of this series!

@@thecharredgambit I appreciate this response and the vision you're laying out for the series. Sounding good!
