Behind the Scenes at Weta Workshop - Making Eagles

- Visitors to Wellington Airport can't miss the two Great Eagles hovering over the food court in the main terminal. Alongside Gollum and three massive fish.
The eagles were created by Weta Workshop and we'd like to share how these eagles came to be.
Check out this video where Creative Director Richard Taylor, Workshop Supervisor Rob Gillies and a large team of sculptors, 3D modellers, engineers, painters, costume artists, mold makers and yes - even a robot - show you how it's done, keeping just about every department of Weta Workshop busy with a fun and exciting project!

First thing I saw on arrival in Wellington - brilliant work. Followed up with a visit to Weta Workshop which was again fantastic. I found a feral Philips head screw on one of the Thunderbird sets that the crew had missed, they were sooooo grateful

Did anyone notice the little GREMLINS clue at 3:01 ?? Looks like Gizmo, but in gremlin form! Maybe Weta are working on a new Gremlins movie... can't think of a better studio to do the job!
