1. What is Retiring Room?
Retiring Rooms are rooms, which are available at Railway Stations across India, They are available in Single, Double and Dormitory type of occupancy with AC and Non AC combination.
2. What is the duration of Booking?
Minimum 1 hr to Maximum 48 Hrs. (Hourly booking is also available at few stations only)
3. What are the rules for Cancellation of Retiring Rooms?
-Deduction of 20% of the booking amount if cancelled 2 days in advance excluding the day of occupation
-Deduction of 50% of the booking amount if cancelled one day in advance excluding the day of occupation
-No refund shall be admissible in case of cancellation of retiring room booking on the same day.

5. How would be the room Accommodation allotted
Permissible combinations as are under:
For one passenger, one Single Bed Room or One Double Bed Room or One Bed in Dormitory can be allocated.
For two passengers, One Double Bed Room or Two Beds in Dormitory can be allocated.

6. How is Retiring Room Extension Charge being charged?
If a room is being booked in single transaction for more than 24 hrs periods in combination of slots (12+24,24+12 and 24+24) then second slot assumes as extension of booking of first slot and 25% extra tariff of the second slot is being charged.
7. What is IRCTC service charge on Retiring Rooms
IRCTC Service Charge of Rs.20/- upto 24hrs for a Retiring Room and Rs.10/- upto 24hrs for a Dormitory Bed and of Rs.40/- from 24hrs to 48hrs for a Retiring Room and Rs.20/- from 24hrs to 48 hrs for a Dormitory Bed.
8. What is the Hourly Booking of Retiring Room?
Minimum allowed reservation period is 1 hr and maximum reservation period is 48 hrs for the available rooms and dormitories.(Please note that hourly booking is available at few stations only)

10. Can a Retiring Room be booked against Wait- listed ticket?
Booking of Retiring Rooms on Wait-listed tickets is not allowed
11. Can a Retiring Room be booked against RAC ticket?
Retiring Rooms can be booked on RAC and confirmed tickets
12. If Retiring Room booked online, can it be cancelled through counter and vice versa?
Retiring Rooms booked online to be cancelled online only and same cannot be cancelled across the counter.
13. Is PNR mandatory for the booking Retiring Room?
Valid PNR Number with status RAC/ Confirm is mandatory for booking Retiring Room
14. While booking retiring room, the amount was debited but ticket not booked. What should I do?
Please check booking history, if the retiring room is booked, the details will appear in the booking history. If the transaction is failed, the amount will be refunded in 7-10 working days.
15. Can we do partial cancellation of retiring rooms
Passengerwise cancellation is not permitted, Only Room/Bed wise cancellation is permitted
16. How many booking permitted per PNR
One booking at boarding Station and one booking at destination station permitted
17. How many days in advance can retiring rooms be booked?
Advance booking can be done as per Advance Reservation periods of PRS tickets i.e. 120 days at present
18. If I cancel my train ticket, should I need to cancel my retirng room booking also?
In case of full cancellation of PRS ticket against which retiring room is already booked then Retiring room bookings would get cancelled automatically within 96 hours of Check-in time as per cancellation rules.
19. Is late check in allowed in Retiring Rooms?
Late check-in is allowed upto 1 hour after arrival of the train.
20. If the train is cancelled, should I need to cancel the Retiring Room booking?
Refund will be processed as per cancellation Rules.
21. What if I cannot check in as scheduled?
Failure to check in to the Retiring Room as per booking, will attract the full cost of stay.
