    Thank you sir!!!
Great info. Have had mine for a couple with little use. Didn't know how to use it. So thanks for all the tips!!!

I've had one for about 10 years. Mine never had great depth but the pinpoint is spot on! I use mine to loan out to friends or neighbors who ask to borrow a metal detector to avoid loaning out one of my expensive detectors. I remember watching videos back sometime ago when you were actually hunting with it. As a loan out detector and for just someone wanting to try out metal detecting, I agree that it is a good option as it does work really well at it's price but it's not very durable.

My old 9 function finely gave up the ghost about six months ago.
I'm kinda going to miss that old thing
👍🤠👍I patched that thing together 100 times.

I'm going to the beach I'll pick up my 9 function before I will my more expensive metal detector and with that said if the 9 function was built a little better it would be a hell of a metal detector well it still is a good metal detector they just ain't made for somebody that uses them all the time like we do

I agree Charles! I am preparing to rebuild my HF9 into a salt water coin and ring killer. and will be doing videos as I do the mods.

I would still have one if they just built them tougher and maybe detect a little deeper.
    but mainly tougher.

Agreed, I still have one. If the quality and depth were better it would be worth the extra cost. It still wouldn't compare to my AT Pro but with some better depth and construction quality I would pay extra.

Awesome sauce my new friend. I gots der same machine. I found a aluminium can three feet down in sand. Honestly, I did not dig. I stop at a foot. My Friend had to keep at it. He dug a can. This machine kills
I had to epoxy the shaft to the unit cause of a broken mini bolt holding it on.
Thanks bout the tip about plugging the shaft to keep from wah, wah getting in the batt compartment.

I've had the Minelab Equinox 800 for a couple years and when working around metal poles in the kids playground, the metal poles get picked up on the detector but your Harbor Freight beats it when working around poles or metal chain link fences. I have to admit the Equinox 800 has been spot on with the VDI numbers. I know if it's a Quarter, dime, penny or nickle before I dig the target with 95% success.
Mike is right, even the most basic detectors can beat out the more expensive models. You just got to know your detector. I've seen all of Mike metal detecting videos and he pretty much knows what's in the ground before he digs. Great video again!

Thanks Scorpio, the HF9 is good next to metal fences and poles. just knowing the machine.

That thing has been through hell! Have you ever tried the Bounty Hunter Tracker 4? I think it is the best all around tough detector made.

Do you know the working frequency? I have one of these units. Great little machine yet sadly frail. Done epoxied the design flaws over.

What would be a good detector for searching metal in big trees?

    • @wildcatcreeksurvival2414
      @wildcatcreeksurvival2414  ปีที่แล้ว +1

BIG trees - you will need a detector with a BIG coil. Think diameter of coil as deep in wood as you need to go.
