Sorry but I have to comment here. I never comment on videos but I have to here because I see too many people making this mistake and passing it onto others. Whenever you clip a branch or snap a leaf off of a succulent, you should always leave that part of the plant to sit out for a few days up to a week, depending on your home's region. You need to let the succulent form a callus where you cut it from the mother plant. Sometimes you're successful if you don't do those things, but in the long run it's best for your succulents and the propagated babies that come from the snipped leaves, but the reason to do that is because succulents are full of water and the best time to cut a branch or a leaf is whenever they are plump and when they are, that means that they are full of water. When you expose a recently cut stem or leaf to wet soil, they have a tendency to start rotting. Just a little FYI to the newbies of propagation. If you want to be successful down the long run with your plants then definitely make sure that you are letting your plant pieces callus over so that they don't absorb water too fast and then end up rotting out. Also, another tip is whenever you do first plant them after they callus over, wait up to 3 days before watering them because if you wait to water them, they will end up growing roots faster. Succulents are kind of finicky like that but that's the best way that it works. Good luck with your succulents and always keep growing.
@Susan bond no, it is not bad to leave them on the cutting since they will be part of your new plant. I guess the cutting would root faster if you had just a couple of leaves because it can put more energy in growing roots, but if you have more leaves, the plant will look more full from the beginning on.
Good tips! I love my jade plants and have done this a few time, usually works fine but my last batch ended up over watered when the soil wouldn't dry out, I've never heard of humus soil! Worked amazing!
I love Crassula ... My plant is like a tree and old (40 years old). In my country Romania, it's name is "Planta care aduce bani" ... "The Plant that brings Money" ^___^
I love this jade plant I use to have a big one but it died after i forgot left it outdoor during winter Thanks for sharing! New subscriber please come connect! Have a great day!
Excellent in which season we can grow cutting,at present my crasula leaves getting light wrinkle and thinning plant kept in green net hardly 1hr morning light sunlight appear
Bambi.72 I just made the mistake of watering to soon. Just wondering how often I should water to help with the rooting. I did leave them for a couple of days to crust over, probably should have left them longer. It’s quite hot now in my house. Cheers.
mine always die like this. I need way more instruction as I am an idiot. like... let it scab, dont let it have sunlight for the first week, use tap water every other day or whatever. Great video, but just some tips to get you rooted.
@@TheJATMaster I just put mine on the windowsill, they were in sunlight but I'm not sure if it's 100% necessary. if you want them to be healthier when u grow them try putting some rooting powder on the 'scab' part. Hope this helps.
My question is, although Jade plants grow and recover faster in the spring and summer after a pruning, if it’s an indoor jade plant will it still recover from a pruning just as equally, any time of the year?
i watch this because i have jade plant and i want to do produce more like this thanks for sharing a great content
Thank you for sharing me with my dear friend😍👍.
It's a very easy and great way to breed baby plants.

this is incredibly helpful.. and probably the reason I've never been able to keep my jades alive :( . here's to future happy plants!!

Beautiful .Great sharing .Stay blessed .See you . 👌✔🙏
Thanks for visiting
Purple Rain.... I'll have to try this... TFS!
you must have a green thumb, I've tried growing them from the leaves and they die 😞😞😞
Dont water them right away, let them sit for a few days so their wounds can close up or else they'll soak up all that water and rot

I thought the new Jade cuttings needed time to "scab" over before planting?
They do
They do leave for about 2 or 3 days
@@naomixx4194 do I let them scab over by sitting outside in the sun, or can I just leave them sitting inside for 3 days?
